I am wanting to buy the Burns puppy packs to give to the new owners. I can find the mini bites to buy, but not the breeders packs with the money off vouchers. Does anyone know where these can be bought? Many thanks for looking.

Try the Burns' website, you may be sent a few freebies too!  :)

I did go on the website earlier and viewed the items for sale, but couldn't find the packs. I have since looked and found a link and have emailed them. Thanks for your help.

join the breeders club, give burns a call and ask for their breeder services and they will sign you up. you get a 2kg bag of food per puppy, a lovely puppy information wallet with £5 off their next purchase. Whatever they buy either 7.5kg or 15kg you as the breeder will get a voucher for the equivilent. I use Burns and have been thrilled with the pups on it and also the service that burns give.

nice to see Burns having a good recommendation.  It used to be that Burns had a glory time a few years ago with so many old posts that I have looked through claiming their dogs doing brilliantly on it.

Lately though it seems not many people like it (perhaps it's just me)  it was developed by a vet at the end of the day and when mine had colitis as a pup it was the only food that produced a solid small output so to me there must be something very digestible about it - I tried every food going!!!   People bemoan the fact its all rice but it's brown rice renowned for health giving properties and not a bad meat content when you compare to other foods.

No I'm not on commission but know that with such small output it must be good stuff and mine have lovely soft coats on it despite the low oil content.

Sorry don't mean to rant but feel strongly about it based on my OWN experience and my dog's terrible digestion issues.

I'm sorry but I still think that Burns is the best!  It's does not have excessive magnesium and phosphorus levels and the protein is not too high.  I will not be convinced that ultra high protein diets are good for dogs and I think that I will be borne out in a few years time when these dogs do get kidney problems.  My dogs are in peak health on a combined diet of Burns and Naturediet combined with a twice weekly tin of sardines and veg.

A friend of mine got the litter sister to my old dog (collieX lab) and  a Border terrier  a year later. He fed them on Burns from the moment he had them where as my bitch had various dried foods (student at time).
My bitch was put to sleep at 13 1/2 due to a stroke but she also suffered from chronic arthritis. Her sister is still alive and active today and will make 18 next month, the Border terrier was put to sleep in January aged 17. I personally believe their great age is due to the quality of the food as we did the same activities with the dogs.

I also don't believe that dogs are pure carnivores like cats.  My dogs naturally scavenge and one of their favourite activities is picking pears from the pear tree.  Maisie has also been known to help herself to apples.  They love their carrots and bananas too!  My cats on the other hand would never even dream of it!!!  Indeed, even my cats as they get older go on a reduced protein diet to make their kidneys last longer!

I did feed burns for a short while, but mine seemed to get very fed up with it, leaving most of it at every meal time!

I used to feed it thinking it was the best I could get but my dog never enjoyed it and took ages to eat.  Now changed to another food and he wolfes it down like he has been starved.

I agree the ingredients are very good and I buy alot of the Burns treats but I know people have complained about lack of oil content and their dogs dropping weight on it.

As is always the case, what is good for one dog wont necessarily be good for every dog.
