
Personally, if you have taken more than one dog, you will really need to have made contingency plans well before the group, as you could end up having to go back into the breed ring with two dogs competing against each other. Even if both are same sex and same class, if one is first and the other second, the second could get called back in to challenge for reserve best of sex. I find we always have to consider this when we show 3 or more dogs (and it's always two of us), so it's best to sort something out in advance. Had a wonderful (not) moment at Boston when I was stood outside the breed ring with two dogs, my husband was inside the ring with a third in the bitch challenge, and the judge called for the other bitch to come back in. The benches were too far away to quickly get back to and I couldn't exactly give hubby two dogs to handle, nor could I go in the ring with the required bitch plus a spare dog LOL, so I just stood there wondering what to do until a kind exhibitor came and took a dog off me. :)
