Topic Dog Boards / Health / Being sick

My Samoyed girl has been sick about 4 times today...I've not been at home with her but my OH has and has said that the sick is like undigested food. I've just changed her food - do you think this could be a cause? Mind you, I changed her gradually on Thursday night. She hasn't 'sicked' anything else up but I do think she might have eaten a piece of wet kitchen roll out of the bin - but my other dogs have eaten worse and have been ok.

Obviously if she is sick more this evening I will call the vet - she is well in herself though and doesn't seem subdued or anything. Should I give her a plain tea tonight, like boiled rice and white fish??

Would appreciate any advice, thank you!

its like catch 22 isnt it ....if it the new food she could be sick again .....but your not going to know for sure ..it might be a bug? ....or it could just be the wet kithen roll ? if it got stuck this could be why the food is coming up undigested ?.....so if it was me id try a very small amont of fish or chicken and see if she keeps it down 1st and if she dont ....then it a bug or the kitchen roll ....

hope shes feeling better soon , bless her xx

Thank you white lilly, I'm not sure what it is, but she had her dinner before and has been fine since - I gave her some boiled rice and white fish though so will see how she is in the morning.

Meg says thanks for the good wishes :-)

Alice,

You could ask OH if he noticed when she was 'sick' wether it was active (which might indicate vomiting) or passive (which would be regurgitation) that then might give an indication as to wether 'Bounty' is the culprit or 'Bug' ;)
(What is it with sled dogs and tissues and towels!!?? got be stolen and shredded!)

Hi Alice,

How is she doing this morning?

Hi Alice,

just caught up with this - sorry.  Hope your girl is over the hurdle now.  Any update?

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for asking - Meg is absolutely fine this morning - she was doing her best impression of 'Tigger' from Winnie the Pooh this morning, very bouncy and happy! Think she must have just eaten something that disagreed with her.

HG - its really strange isn't it how the 'sled types' shred things - our Mal has a fascination with my OH's waste paper bin - envelopes are her favourite thing to shred - she doesn't eat them though!!

:-)

Meg has given me several grey hairs and lots of wrinkles on my forehead these last few weeks thanks to her illnesses and naughty antics!! (Didn't tell you about her disappearance did I!?) I'm sending her the bill for when I need Botox :-D

Little madam LOL. I'm going to need the full works if my 'precious' one doesn't simmer down soon - I'm waaaay beyond the botox stage :-D

Is this your boy? I'm so looking forward to meeting him :-D

You say that now   I might drop him off on a certain Sammy stand so I can have a  break (a very looooong break LOL).  He's a darling really :-p

Don't forget to give me your pass as well just in case I want to steal him... ;-)

ROFL - methinks you won't :-p

I am pleased that she is clearly on the mend. I have one who follows me to the loo to steal toilet roll. Most of my gang have a passion for tissue but one loves books left about by messy children!!
