Barbara
I have Leos to, all i can say is glad i have a bitch, dont think i would be organised enough with a dog, especially if he was still a pup.

I couldn't even see the ddb as an entry on the link.
We have an 8.30 start, this is one very early start, just wishing it was so much nearer to me and i had actually booked a hotel the night before. Here is to me having a very early night and early start on the same day

*yawn* 10am for us, as normal! I'm sure the KC think we are lazy people....
However someone is handling a flatcoat again this year. No doubt we will be there before 8!

8.30am for Newfies same as always.

That is just what i didn't want an early start at 8am, Leos again....
Yvonne

so, if my class starts at 8.30am, and my hotel is 15minutes away....how long in theory should i give myself to get through traffic and parking? im on the thursday.

Depends which class you are in, if its puppy you are in first or second, give yourself 30 mins to get parked and walk.
Yvonne
I like to get there early then i can relax a bit before i go in the ring.

my boy is in junior, so pretty early on, i'll aim to be there for 8am, gives myself half an hour to settle him, so half an hour for parking, give myself 40mins for drive, so im getting up about 6am? early night i think, thank goodness ive booked a hotel! thanks.

no because ddb are second in the ring not an early or late start (I Think)
2am start for me(am I a fool???)
Barbara

Phew doesn't look like we are early but have a ring change.

*yawn* 10am for us, as normal! You know, you can really go off peoople!!!! 8.30am with TTs (think I'm in Yearling dog :-O)
Phew doesn't look like we are early but have a ring change.May mean we get in a bit earlier with the Spanish though do you think?
anyone know what hall and ring ess are in this year?

ESS hall 2 ring 13/14

Yes hopefully in earlier with the Spanish now as if its still Curly Coats and Kookiers before us thats only 111 instead of the 210 we had in front of us before....
That ring order for the DDB's is a bit ridiculous tho....175 before them and 133 of them...hope the judges are good ones and quick but thorough.
Dont think the KC thought very much about the new breeds off of the IBR register this year..especially with our classes or lack of them..
There are four dogs coming from Belgium, 3 owned by one lady..all have to be in the same class...They cant believe the rubbish classes we have been given.....

They would have to hold off in the group until all breed classes had finished. Can't even believe that they would allow a breed to miss out on it due to it running late.. Has anything like this happened before?

Maybe, just maybe they will wait for all BOBs as there is no need to run to a TV schedule? Here's hoping.

Yes breeds have missed the group before, but like Jeff says maybe !!!! as there is no TV coverage they will wait this year......
Blimy both cockers & BC's are 8:30 am so we are going to have to catch an early train from our hotel in Birmingham!!!! I was hoping for a Romantic early morning!!! not usual time up to walk the houndrells.
Umm I'll take an alarm clock and miss breakfast.

8.30 start for us as well. luckily pup is a girlie and Barmy Arnie is in Limit so no need to get there right at the start.

If the breeds which start at 08.30 what is the earliest time we can go into the building to set up and settle down?

Hi Sue
it should be in the schedule if you have one (sorry, I don't, I entered on-line only). There should be a time for the earliest point at which dogs will be received - I'd expect this to be around 7-00am but hopefully someone will confirm if you don't have a schedule to hand.

Entered online also. Just tried to download a schedule, but crashed half way though, but no opening times at the beginning half of it.

Dogs will be admitted from 6.30 am according to the schedule :)

Many years ago i believe the BSD missed the group due to judging not cmopleted, they wouldn thold the group then because of the TV, but they may have now changed

How late do you want the show to finish, as it atands BIS is due to be declared at 9pm. I dont see an issue with the timings, the judges at Crufts should all be pretty experienced and just need to get on with it, and me mindful of time pressures that there always is with a big entry. I am very sure that the groups will start at the time they are supposed to start. Breeds have missed the group in the past, a huge disappointment, but should the whole show wait ofr a judge that just takes well over the time per dog they should?

Bazb
I think the problem this year is having 2 breeds with large entries in the same ring not the judge going slow. I'm sure any single breed with over 300 entries has 2 rings allocated . I think someone didnt expect as many ddb's being entered. It is such a shame being the first year they've had classes, going to be a very long day for them.
Or do you think the Leo judge shouldnt give her entries the consideration they deserve just to make time for the ddb's? It's not a very good situation for either breed.

I notice that Labrador bitches have 298 dogs entered. With judging starting at 8, and given no need for a lunch break they should be done by 6pm - thats 10 hours. Of course the DDB entry is more than anyone expected, but I would have thought nboth judges could give all dogs a proper evaluation and still be don eon time.

Hi Teri
Do you know where paper copies were available? I just assumed I'd pick one up somewhere but when it came to it I didn't see any at other shows like I would have expected. I entered online too but as it's my first year I would have liked the security of a hard copy!!
I'm a bit concerned I might miss some important rule or regulation that will prevent me from getting in. I've plenty to keep me up at night and Crufts is just another to add to the list. I'm sure if I had a schedule to peruse at 3am it might send me back to sleep :) My latest worry is forgetting the dog as we've been going for years on our own; having a qualified dog still seems a bit unreal...
