At what age would you find it acceptable to mate a larger breed bitch, not a giant breed?

Personally I think 3 is an adequate age.

Assuming this is first litter and your breed which  is similar to mine I would say perfect. I am hoping to breed my girl next season (Autumn), if all test results ok and she will be then slighltly over 3 years.

3 is a good age for me too..

However.. I have just mated a 2.5year old, BUT.. the boy I mated her to, will be returning to Russia (his home) in 3 weeks.. For me.. it was a now or never mating, but certainly not one taken lightly... If the boy was staying in the UK for another 6 months.. the mating would not have taken place at this time
