Just had my dark coloured hair lightened and hi lighted,  really pleased with it, but condition is not brilliant.  I have abused it with straighteners and lots of colours.  My hairdresser said that any of the professional ranges would be ok to use, shampoo, conditioner, treatment and that i should use a serum.  I hate my hair to feel heavy and weighed down so I wash it most days. 

Can anyone recommend a decent range that I could get from Boots.

Aussie Mega Instant conditioner or any of the Aussie range are great .

This can't be bought in Boots, but the Kiehls Olive Fruit shampoo and repairative hair pak keep my blonde locks in good condition.  I get mine from House of Fraser, but there may be somewhere you can order it online.  It's not the cheapest, but you only need a small amount each time and I think it's really worth the money.

Alternatively, Fudge Dynamite is also a good conditioning treatment that leaves your hair feeling nice and soft (http://www.lookfantastic.com/hair/fudge/treatment/fudge-dynamite-hair-rebuilder.html).

I have always found salon products to be far better for my hair than those that can be bought from boots, but that's just my opinion from my own experiences.

I like the colour protective one red plastic container Ummmmmm VO5 is it ? I have my V.dark hair low ligthed with reds makes it really shiny. Once in a blue mood use VO5 hot oil on it lovely and silky.

I've just started using Tommyguns - new'ish brand now in Tesco's and its fantastic!!

Actually , i think it was called ' 4 minute miracle ' that i used to use .

i use Redken Colour Extend shampoo and conditioner (i get it from this website too - you get a free lolly in your order!), and i've noticed a massive improvement since using it. I started with it last year (august) after i went dark, and it really conditions and keep the colour - my hairdresser's noticed the difference. I used to get my hair coloured every 5 weeks or so because it faded, but since using this stuff the colour lasts longer so the roots aren't as noticable, therefore it needs coouring less often - every 10 weeks. I use Aussie Colour Insurance leave in conditioner a few times a week too - normally on a night before bed, knowing i won't be "doing" my hair the next day. Now that is good stuff - my hair's like silk the next morning. The only downside to it is that it drives my cats nuts, so they end up following me round trying to get to my hair to lick it!!

Redken here too, get it from my hairdresser but will look at website, bound to be cheaper!

Appears expensive but you use such a tiny bit each time that a bottle lasts for ages and ages.

I'm a big fan of the tigi range, the ranges they do for coloured hair are very good & I think you can buy special packs at the minute of special offer.  Not available in boots but I use lookfantastic.com & they are great, loads of different brands to choose from!  One comment I'm sure you hairdresser said also is you must use a protective heat spray when using straighteners, I use Aveda Brilliant & it's really good.  I'm the same as you hate my hair feeling dirty of greasy so wash it every day but if I can I try to avoid the GHD's!! HTH ;)

I've actually bought the tigi shampoo and conditioner today,  giant bottles bogof.  still cost nearly £20.00 though!!

I'm really trying to stop using the straighteners as often,  my hairdresser said the windswept look suited me, cheek!!

A good tonic for your hair is to rub some good quality (Virgin) olive oil through it and wrap in a warm towel for 20 mins then wash out with any shampoo, I do this about once a month and it leaves my hair nice and glossy.
Another tip is to rinse your hair in a weak beer solution (Beer and water) after washing then rince off with warm water, leaves it nice and shiny.

I got the BedHead Self Absorbed range,  the lady in the salon assured me that it was good stuff,  smells great too, of oranges.  I shall try it out in the morning.

I have curly hair which is naturally mid brown but i highlight it with bleach and destroy it every now and then with the irons..

I have found that certain redken products really help for my hair, i use a range to get it back into condition and then continue with another range to maintain it.

Also the TIGI range of honey and oatmeal is fantastic and that is a heavy product, but worth using to get it back into shape again.
I use the bedhead serum, really helps in my hair and always use a heat protector when using a hairdryer or irons - redken i use for this.

I personally find that using salon products my hair fairs a lot better than cheap products from boots and the like. I have very difficult hair so i have to spend the money to keep it tamed..

I have started using the Aussie range and I am really pleased with it, this is a great forum for all sorts of things lol

I've used Aussie products for years now, very good high street stuff.  3 min miracle is marvelous!  For more expensive I use Nexxus products they are an American range not widely available in the uk but you can find it, one of their products has been around for years called Humectress and that really is miraculous - lol (their leave in conditioner, Headress is really good - I use is when I go camping).  You only need a small amount so it lasts for ages.

I use this and my hairdresser gets me the huge bottles for £10 each, they last ages.  I have also used the Aussie Mega Instant and really liked that too.

I have just been into CostCuts or what ever they are called, found in the malls.

They sell the big bottles of Redken, TIGI, Paul Mitchell and Kerestase.

They currently have a BOGOF offer on the large TIGI bottles. So saved myself a bargain on the Honey and Oatmeal.

I think the BedHead stuff is brilliant, I have been using it daily and the condition of my hair has improved.  The level in the bottle doesn't seem to have gone down at all, think this stuff will last for ages so actually works out quite economical.

Just checked and the one in our mall is called SuperCuts, very cheap and cheerful, though they sell salon products at cheap prices.
