i found this very stange !!!!! my girl should be 5weeks in whelp now , ive just been looking over her and she as alot of hair growing out 1 of her nipples ? ive never seen this before
as any1 eles ? going for scan tomorrow i will ask vet but abit strange ????

That can happen after the menopause lol, no seriously I havent come across this one myself but hopefully someone else will have.

I seriously havent come across it on any of my girls when pregnant though so its a new one on me, someone will have an idea of the cause of it, will be interested to find out.

OK ive just looked at my bitch who is on day 48, she seems to be losin the hair around her nipples, she is also maulting loads on her back, but that could be down to long days in front ot the fire.

never seen hair growing out of the nipple before , I have long coated breed who looses the hair from around her nipple around the 5th week usually in a circle.

White lilly - is the hair coming out of the actual nipple or are they coming out of the oureol (sp?)?

the actual nipple ,she is long coated also ..she will be 5weeks on sat !!! i have a freaky dog dont i :( ......well she fits well in this family lol lol lol lol lol

o dear no one knows here ...i hope the vet can help answer why she has this and will the hair go before she as pups ????

Have you tried a gentle pull?

Not wanting to gross people out but I know in the shearing sheds of NZ that men and woman can get a breast abcesses from wool fibres entering the nipples.  It kind of just builds up until there a 'tuft ' there.  Maybe your girl has shed a bit of fur and it's kind of worked it's way in.  A warm damp flannel might help.
