Hoping for some advice :-) My Akita has been diagnosed with an immune problem which at the moment is effecting her feet.  She will be undergoing some heavy treatment for this but I want to be able to keep exercising her which is difficult at the moment because it is painful for her.

So my question is can anyone recommend some good quality dog boots that will make walking more comfortable for my girl?

do you mean the hygeine ones that mikki do or actual going out walking boots?

She only needs boots for walking because it hurts her if she steps on little stones etc so looking for going out walking boots.  She isn't allowed to wear them any other time because her feet need to stay as dry as possible.

My springer drags his feet as he has arthritis in his elbows so he wears down his claws to the quick so needs some protection. The only boots I have found that are light enough for him to be able to still pick up his feet a bit but be strong enough to cope with being dragged, are the cordura cani x boots from:

I have used the canix one when Alf had a lump removed - it was really good.

I use Ruffwear Grip-Trex dog boots for my fox terrier. She has pollen allergies and has been know to lick and chew her feet until they are sore and weeping. The boots offer protection when she walks and help keep her feet clean when the skin is broken. The soles are rubber and very tough, and make a huge difference when walking on a rough surface such as gravel. They are washable too - I just throw them in the washing machine along with her bedding. However, there have still been occasions when her feet were too sore for her to want to walk very far, even with the boots on. I wouldn't be without them.

Thank you everyone for replying so quickly.  I've been looking at the sites and like the idea of the ruff wear boots and also the Thera Paw one's so will measure her and get some ordered - they aren't cheap though but it will mean she can go out for walks without being in so much pain.
