LOL! I have a poodle bikini :-o (but a friend bought it for me - it has NEVER been worn I swear).
Just thinking now, I see where I am going wrong lol.  I should be grateful he wants to marry someone as nutty as me :-o
Think I better invest in some proper undies before Saturday ;-)

I'm afraid we see it as a bit of a commercial thing - but I quite like valentines day this year, as it means my OH has an excuse for staying in with me on a Saturday night (his usual Saturday night consists of a post-rugby match drinking session - "lads only"!)

We're going to have a takeaway and rent some DVD's, I have promised my OH that I will sit through a whole DVD without falling asleep. Now got to decide what DVD to watch (Lassie...Beethoven...lol only joking!) We won't buy each other cards or heart balloons or anything.

Your Valentines box for your chap sounds lovely though - such a nice thoughtful idea :-)

And GCG - talking of Poodle dressing gowns, I bought a lovely dressing gown the other day with Scottie dogs on it!! Couldn't quite find a Samoyed one. :-)

I do like the way that Valentines Day brings people closer...not in that way :-)
The way people stop to talk to each other, like at Christmas and when the weather was snowing. People seem that little bit happier and cheerful & we all seem to have something in common.
For example, i had an enlightening conversation with a man in the queue at Tesco earlier. I was buying "bits and bobs" for my valentines box. The guy was saying about how he was treating his girlfriend and showed me the card he had bought her and the flowers he's picked cos they were her favourite. Then i told him what i was doing. Its nice to have these sorts of conversations when people are happy and #love is in the air, everywhere i look around# #loveis in the air with every sight and every sound# lol

Just had a super romantic chocolate fondue with my Mum and Dad.... best Valentines I have ever had :-D LOL
- By ice_queen Date 14.02.09 14:09 UTC
:-D Valentines is all about showing the one you love just how much you do love them, you do something special to remind them and show them this so I thought "what can I do to show those I love that I love them", and it came to me to bake a cake!  So I got the ingreedients out and went on my way to bake a scrummy cake which turned out PERFECT!

Can you guess what cake it was?......

Yup, it was Liver Cake!

And I got the love of 4 dogs in return......Well I like to think so!

Further to my previous post:

8am HG Towers:~

HG: Zzzzzzz *snuggled under quilt having much needed lie in after getting up at 5am each wk day*

~~~ A herd of Elephants charge up the stairs, occasional rustling sounds and panicked "no leave it!" ~~~
HG: :confused:
~~~ OH panicked whispering outside bedroom door "Storm,no! it's Mummy's present!" ~~~

HG: :)

               *Door bursts open dogs fly onto bed carrying a slightly soggy...........*
                                                      .
                                                      .
                                                      .
                                                      .
                                                      .
                                  MacDonalds paper take out bag!!!!???

The Dead Man walking: *triumphantly*... "Happy valentines! breakfast in bed!!"
HG: "Macdonalds!?... I don't even eat Macdonalds!"

     *Dog thrusts head into offending bag..snorts..sighs.. walks away in disgust to curl up at bottom of bed*
HG: "See!!! even the dogs won't eat it!!!"
The DMW: "Just humor me... *sighs dejectedly* It's nice you'll like it"

     *HG tentatively opens bag if nothing else to get some peace & quiet and get back to sleep!*

The DMW:  ((("Breakfast at Tiffany!!"))) *Triumphantly!*

~~ and sure enough there in the soggy MD's bag is a little duck egg blue bag, and a little duck egg blue box with a white ribbon.. and there in the little box is a silver heart on a silver chain. ~~~~

(The Carpenters suddenly appear in the corner of the bedroom "laaaa,la,la,la,laaaaaa"..... and birds do suddenly appear!.... and thankfully for 'The artist formerly know as Dead man walking' they are not, this time, the tweeting circling kind that follow a head injury)

                                      ~ The 'happy-ever-after-' End ~
                                                            :-D

Well, my present went down extremely well so i'm pleased.
I received a bottle of pink champage, chocolates, and 50 - yes 50!! roses in all different colours, all wrapped in a  tight bouquet. We then went out in the evening for a romantic meal where i got a little tiddly and turned into a very soppy giggly mess :-)  Was a great day. Got roast up the inlaws in a bit. I need it to soak up the alcohol!!!
