Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Cold and bladder control?

I am tearing my hair out with my two cockers at the moment.  It seems like all their toilet training has gone out of the window.  The older dog (bitch, 5 years old) has had an accident three times in the lounge over the last week (twice while she's been asleep on our laps - yuck!).  We have never had this problem with her before.  The puppy, meanwhile, hadn't had an accident for the 10 weeks previously (he's seven months old now) but over the last week has done several wees in the kitchen, including in his pen, despite us using odour neutralising cleaning solution each time.   On some occasions he had been out in the garden less than an hour previously.
I'm hoping that this has something to do with the cold and snow and isn't going to be an ongoing problem.  We have basically been snowed in for the last week or so - the dogs love the snow and run around in it like nutters, but I'm wondering if getting so cold on their walks is affecting their bladders?  Has anyone known this to happen with their dogs?

If the bitch is urinating in her sleep it's a medical problem not a housetraining one, so a vet visit is indicated.

I was just typing that too :-) Definitely a visit to the vets I'm afraid, peeing in her sleep has nothing to do with house training.

Thanks for the replies.  I'll take her to the vets tomorrow (which will be a nightmare as she hates the vet and shakes so much she's impossible to examine). Any idea what sort of medical problem might cause this?

Take a urine sample with you to the vet so they can test it there and then to see what the problem is.
I went to the vet today armed with a urine sample and they could tell straight away my girls urine was too dilute and give her the appropriate treatment.
