Topic Dog Boards / Health / Hip Scores in Labs?
- By mstraxs [no] Date 13.11.02 05:36 UTC
Hi All

I recently asked for a hip score in a lab I was going to buy from a breeder and the reply I got via email was 'A'. I have never come across this and was expecting a numerical value. The only difference with this breeder is that they are a reputable kennels in Europe as opposed to the UK. Has anyone come across this before and if so what does the A mean?

Hi jackie

Thanks for the reply. I followed the link but the Leoclub came up with a school! I think it must be out of date. Any ideas? Have you heard of scoring by letters instead of numbers?

Works OK for me Mike, have another go. It should come up with a comparison table. Found the link on Google typed in "Hip score" and it is still there item 5. Have checked it again using the link and A1 = UK 0 to 4 and A2 = UK 5 to 10 so both are good. If you can get onto the LeoClub site it has most systems on there and the comparison to the UK system. Ja:)kie
Anybody else tried? Did it work.
