i changed my dogs diet over the last month, she has a packet of tripe and 300grams of supadog active(was going to change her to chappie complete but assistant advised agaist it) split into 2 meals. the last 3 days she not barely touching her am meal (she eats the tripe and leaves half a cup of dry) but she eats all her evening meal. do u think shes eating enough,could i give 1 meal a day(not keen on that idea). Jay is a 3yr old boxer. and she loses weight quick. she also has a boiled egg daily .ps vet said she has no medical problems

Maybe she's trying to tell you something?!ie she wants a raw meat diet? As for quantities, all dogs are different and it all depends on whether she's maintaining her weight.Dogs do much better on 2 smaller meals than 1 larger meal though even if you have to reduce the quantities especially as you say she loses weight quickly.

Forgot to say Boxers are prone to bloat so shouldn't be fed on 1 meal a day,I would just reduce the quantities slightly and see how she goes.

Do you soak the dry food? If not, it's worth a try. Let it soak (in water), then mix the tripe in really well, let it stand for a couple of minutes & give it another good mix before serving. It should at least make it harder for the tripe to be separated out and hopefully encourage her to eat the kibble too.
