Hopefully off to Pembrokeshire this Summer ( without a dog ) but don't know where to stay .
I like a sea view (!) , son wants to body board , daughter wants to shop !
Looking for somewhere with good places to eat .  Any ideas ?

Pembrokeshire is a great place for holidays, we stayed near Newport Bay a couple of years ago.  I think we booked through Welcome Holidays.  From the coastal path you see the most spectacular scenery.  There are plenty of good eating places but I'm not so sure about the shopping - I can't recall seeing any of the big stores !

But if you get good weather (as we did) you should have a great holiday.

Newport is a nice little place.  Cardigan not too far away for bigger shops.  Also Haverfordwest.  We stayed in Newport itself last year - Quite a few nice places to eat in the town, St Davids and other pubs - can't remember any names except the Refectory in the cathedral.  Newport beach is a 10min drive in the car although from the town one can walk down the Parrog which is on the near side of the river estuary.  St David's also is a nice little place but still a drive to get to the beaches.  I love Whitesands - probabally OK for surfing.  Newgale is always good for surfing, nothing else there though.
