someone on here told me not to feed my pregnant bitch puppy food as its full of fat and will produce huge puppies that will be so big they will be difficult to deliver. Yet today my vet said i should have been feeding her puppy food as its full of calcium for the puppies, can someone tell me who is telling me the right thing thing to do? puppies due yesterday, so i guess its too late to change her diet now.  Although she did have 2 weeks of puppy food.

I do this but only change food when the bitch reaches 6 weeks so would only be feeding it for about a week more than you have.  If she has been on a complete balanced diet prior to this I doubt she will have been sufficiently short of nutrients to have suffered to any significance.

I feed puppy food to mum from week 7 and continue until pups are weaned.  It's never been the cause of huge pups for my girls.

I feed royal canin puppy/junior from 6 weeks until the pups are fully whelped and dependant on condition of mother may keep her on it for a little longer.
