does anyone use chappie complete . a lot of owners are saying it was recommended by their vet. are dogs on chappie thriving or just surviving. im thinking of putting my 3yr old boxer on chappie complete with raw tripe. is this a good food? how often do they go to toilet and is it firm? thanks hope to hear from u soon as ive only 3 days food left

I don't feed it myself but people are usually advised to gradually switch their dogs over to a new food to help prevent it upsetting their digestive systems rather than just stopping one food and immediately starting another. I was told to mix the two feeds together  gradually reducing the amount of original food and increasing the new food over a period of a week to ten days so it might be worth your while to buy a small bag of original food alongside the Chappie so you can make the changeover gradually.

sorry forgot to mention i will be buying the two brands together so i can change over gradually and my girl loves the smell and taste of tripe so i would still like to carry on feeding her this

dont use it now as I feed raw and but have bought up a gsd and a flattie over the last 20years on chappie complete and added tripe or something similar just for interest. They were both healthy and lived until they were 12ish. Infact the gsd had tummy problems which were only sorted out by chappie. It is not a premium brand and there are pro's and con's to the ingredients I gather from reading but I would give it a go and see what your dogs think ,it is still agood price.

Have used it in the past and prefer it to some of Pedigree's more expensive foods

I have a Border Collie that I tried everything for, and Chappie was the only thing that settled his digestive problems.  Lovely firm poos too.  He's the only dog in the house on Chappie, and when he goes for his booster jab the vet always comments on his lovely condition and shiny coat.

thanks so far no bad comment so im just popping down pet shop to get a bag. at £15 a sack and helpiing with h digestion problems i think chappie is worth a try

I feed one of my dogs Chappie chicken and rice tinned as its all her sensitive tum will take.  She can't manage the dried Chappie.

I've fed it to my dogs for years; my oldest is celebrating her 14th birthday today! Very happy with it.

Dry complete as the main diet. I always keep a few tins in reserve in the cupboard because I find that even better if they ever get upset tums from the filthy stuff they scavenge!

I used to mix chappie in with my girls complete kibble... it always kept her poo firm and she absolutely loved it (fussy eater).

can you get chappie for pups?

I have never seen a puppy version on sale.

sorry for messing u about but didnt get chappie in the end shop advised supadog active as jay is a boxer and supadog has a bit more protein. any views on supadog are welcome.

I did get a sample for puppies at their stand at Cruft's a few years ago.  Seemed fine, but I stayed with what I was using.  However, I can confirm that Supadog Sensitive is great for condition, so I see no reason why the Active shouldn't be good.
