have you just got him from a breeder or have you bred the little man, what was he weaned on maybe go back to that was you given a diet sheet (if your not the breeder)have you changed his diet as leaving his litter mates coming to you, new surrroundings etc. can cause this a lack of appetite. one thing that all pups like is mince beef but not knowing what his diet is i would only give hime a small amount just a teaspoon to start with then increase it,also some baby rice mixed a little of his milk might tempt him to eat as well then hopefully you can start to put the mince on his other food. Before all this please make sure he is checked over by a vet ASAP.

Has this puppy not even been weaned from his mum yet ?
At 7 weeks old he's far too young to have left his mum and should be on his mum and weaned onto solids...i cant believe i have read the op....is this your first dog ?
He needs to be taken to a vet right this minute...if your as worried as you say you are why haven't you taken him already...i'm sorry i this is coming across a little harsh but please get yourself to a vet now.
If this dog has not been weaned he needs to go back to Mum NOW so he can feed , then start to wean him .
You wouldn't take a breast fed baby and expect it to be able to eat a Macdonalds without doing it slowly and gradually .
How often is this pup being fed and what ?
Hopefully someone will come along with a weaning plan for you to follow .

he should go to the vets as puppies become dehydrated very quick no matter how playful he is as puppies are very resilient to what they have going on with their little lives but can go down hill very quick. He should still be with his mum being weaned by the breeder from what i can gather he has not. Also you mentioned you were giving him milk what sort of milk was this was it a puppy formula or goats (hopefully not cows) in the litters i have bred the pups stayed with the litter until they were 9 weeks old during their weaning time they were given as i stated before puppy porridge, the odd scrambled egg, both made quiite runny so they could lick it from a flat plate also being topped up by mum, then the chewing reflex kicks in when they then went onto minced beef then this was added to dried puppy food that had been wetted so that when they left here they were completely on solid food. Please please take the little chap to the vets he will then put your mind at rest and offer the best advice on feeding and care of him let me know how you get on.

ok .. DONT SOUND SO MEAN. lol. HE DID POOP THIS AM. so i am feeling better. he has been introduced to FOODS. just does not eat alot. or even a little... LIKE HE DOES NOT WANT TO EAT YET. we have been told by plenty of ppl that 6-7 weeks old was an ok time to take the puppy home. he OVERALL seems happy and cuddly. does not just sit around and seems depressed. so i dont know..
Nobody is being 'mean' , pups of this size can go downhill FAST .
I think the Chi breeders on this site will say that they don't let their pups go 'till 12 weeks because of the risk of hypoglycaemia .
Can please let us know what and how often he is eating so that we can HELP you .

Are you keeping him warm and letting him get plenty of rest ?
Breeders suggest you take him for a health check within 24 hours of collection so that you know he is well , they will also discuss worming and vaccinations .
How much and how often was he eating before you brought him home ? Are you offering the same food that he had with the breeder ?

the best time to remove a pup from his mother is 8 weeks on. this makes sure pup is weaned properly and not dependent on its mum. sorry to sound harsh but a undernourished pup gets ill very quick so i would take the pup straight to the vet to make sure he is ok.again i dont want to sound horrible but owners should read up about breeding any animal before letting their pets breed or buying apet from a breeder
