Hi, i have two large breed dogs a dog and a bitch, both entire. the bitch was in season about 3 weeks ago and my dog caught her so we were straight down the vets for the 'morning after' injection. My vet assured me it would work and be fine (i know it was my fault that the dog got in with her- hes 18m and i wanted to wait til he was 2 to get him done) my bitch is nearly three- she has had a phantom pregancy before- but her behaviour has really changed in the last few days so i guess i want to ask...
how effective is the injection-given within 24hrs.?
she has wee'd in the house today- normally she is impeccably clean. is this a sign of anything?
she has larger nipples...
can pups be aborted without spaying?
and is very clingy and now i am so worried and feel so guilty in case the injection didnt work. any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

Which injection was given? Mesalin is given on the 3rd and 5th days after mating; Alizin is also 2 injections 24 hours apart which can be given up to 45 days after mating.

hi- it must be alizin as she was given 2 injections a day apart from each other. my vet seems to be sure they have worked-said he had not yet seen it fail. i cant remember the exact name of it- i will try and find my receipts as it has the name on that- but it was given about 24 hrs after mating

In your position I would go and have her scanned 28 - 35 days after the mating and if she is found to be pregnant there is still time to abort the litter (up to 40+ days).
