Hi All
i know there are some photographers on here so i am looking for some advice , i have a Sony DSC H5 ( which is pretty good for taking action shots )  and also a sony cybershot w200 , i want a camera for taking action shots i.e the dogs running outside and also taking shots when they are in the show ring , and also for taking stacked photos etc , i need them to be high quality as they may be used for ads etc . i dont want anything too bulky .

any advice greatly appreciated

I also have the D60, it is quite good for an entry level camera.

Although I still find I am doing a lot in the editing :), but very good for action shots of the dogs :)

Hubby has a Fuiji film fine pix 8100FD it has these modes: auction, sport, snow, beach night, fireworks, sunset, landscape, portrait, text, flower, museum programmes, just for starters, it is the best thing I have ever seen for value for money...around £200, hubby says those programmes are the tip of the iceberg and he used to be a Professional Photographer! We've taken some action shots with the dogs and they are jolly good! HTH all the best Dawn.  PS He got it at Jessops, they have a website too...Does 10million pix...down to 8,5,3,2 million pix if needed.

Just to add as a girlie I found the D60 very comfortable to hold, some of the others were too big for me to hold any lenghth of time. :)

OH has a Fujifilm FinePix S5800 - it was given a fantastic write-up by What Camera buyer and others - comparison with other brands and even more highly specified ones in the same range was given the Buy this Now tag ;)  it works very much like an SLR - has loads of settings etc including Video    We've just bought the same one for daughter's Birthday for ..... £80 !!!! (Shhh don't tell - she doesn't know yet!) which is a lot less than OH paid last year.  There are higher specified ones in the range but it was a compromise of cost against performance and this one won!  We've taken some fantastic pictures with it and even my 11 year old has taken beauties!

link will take you to others in the FinepPix range ;)

ETA - as a very small girlie with tiny hands, this camera is really easy to hold and use, not too heavy either ;)

I have the Canon 450d, with the general lens that came with it and another lens it cost me £600.00.  Be warned though, sadly due to costs of lenses etc. to be made the companies have hiked their prices up enormously in the last few weeks!!

if you want quality images for adverts then get a professional canine photographer to take them :)

Hi I have the sony dsc h50 and as my first digital camera it really does the business! A bit slow on the digital front but glad I waited.
Have taken some beautiful pics of Khan as well as holiday pics and getting better all the time. My only grievance is that I haven't managed to upload any for my avatar yet as they're too big!!
