It beggars belief, doesn't it?

I wonder what they think is an active dog?

ha ha ha ha ha
obviously that mix of dog will just want to sleep all day and not have ANY issues with behaviour when it isnt worked enough.

Did they by any chance say that they couldn't afford to pay very much for a puppy ?

Lots of people seem to have collies as pets with children , though - well I see quite a lot anyway and maybe the person expected to exercise the dog a lot as their request mentions dog walking.

Pay? Pay? No!!! It was on a freecycle site :-(

Freecycle? I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, didn't twig they were just after any free puppy, oh dear...

Very much like the adverts you see WANTED - has to be a bitch, and over 18months, oh and housetrained.  Preferably show quality and KC registered, free to good home.  Wonder if I could try that and get a couple of brood bitches that I could show and then get puppies from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, to change the subject slightly, my ex was telling me about someone he meets walking the dogs. The lady recently lost one of her old Flatcoats (cancer :-( ) and put an ad in the papers for a puppy. she got over 20 calls on the first day from people asking her to take their black Lab (mainly :-( ) as they were finding it hard to manage due to change in circumstances. She was heartbroken, but is adamant she wants a Flatcoat puppy. This has to be the tip of the iceberg.

It really does boggle the mind. Crazy. Surely if someone cannot afford the initial expense of a puppy then how will they afford vets / feed / toys etc and the generaly expense you have as a dog owner?!
The most annoying part is they are more than likely to end up being given a pup

Ive got a collie but (my opinion) its definately a dog for an adult master or mistress. Or a young teen who wants to train as a hobby but they get so devoted and sulk so if "their" favorite person leaves them.
