Hello,
Apologies if I've put this under the wrong category, I weren't sure which to put it under.
My 4 month old pup would eat his own poo if I didn't get to it before he did.
Someone suggested to me that it might be the food he was on, he was originally fed on Eukanuba so I changed him to James Wellbeloved which he didn't seem to like very much but even on that food he would still try to eat his poo if he got half a chance but as he lost a little weight on that food as he turned his nose up at it most meal times I changed him on to Royal Cain which he loves but he is still interested in eating his poo. He doesn't try to eat any of the other dog's poos.
Any advice and suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Louise.

My boy did this I was assured it was not unusual.
He out grew it with in a few weeks..

If he doesn't outgrow it, as he isn't eating the other dogs poo, you could try Deter.

although vet said it was normal behaviour when my jack russell was a pup it was his favourite hobby. it went on for about 18 months until we tried a product called deter.within 2 weeks his addiction was broken. he has never eaten a terd since, although he is now 9years old.

I think I'll try this Deter stuff, I have a serious poo eater and a casual poo eater aged 9 and 10 months. I know it's normal but it's still gross:(
lol im with you there pinky ;)
when 1 of my girls were a pup she did it and no matter what i did she didnt stop ,so i had to be there when she did it and clean it up stright away ...shes now 4 and does it still now and again :(
