I Bought a small bag of this food this week for my girls, as i have been looking to change them to a salmon and potato based complete of good quality. They have got on with this food very well so far.
Has anybody any thoughts or use this food please as i would be interested to hear your views.

Thankyou Goldie.

Nobody has replyed and you have me really worried now, come on somebody must know something about wafco.    PLEASE.

I've known Salmon & Potato (and their vegetarian) work wonders for Westies with skin problems and allergies. :)

How's that? :)  I didn't reply before as I don't use it myself.  I don't eat processed food myself and so don't feed it to my dogs. :)

Hi Goldie,

Sorry the title threw me slightly, didn't realise this was an enquiry on Salmon&Potato.

I fed Wafcol Salmon&Potato for about 8 months (2005 to first months of 2006) as previously I'd fed imported (I worked for an Airline) Timberwolf (which wasn't available to UK then nor Orijen)

I can't give you a true gauge of feeding it alone, as I was using it in conjunction with Raw.
But.... My Sibe is an incredibly precise 'weather gauge' and will go squitty in the blink of an eye.... The wafcol served him well, I was very happy with it. (But, like I said, It did not form the main stay of his diet)

There are quite a lot of members here who have used Wafcol S&P in the past and all spoke highly of it at the time.
HTH :)

Hi Westcoast and HuskyGal
Thanks for replying so quickly,i was worried i was feeding this all alone,it does seem to suit them both well, the ingredients seem quite good quality, just have not heard much about it....one of my girls gets collitus easily and thought i give it a try.
Thanks again i feel better now.

Goldie,

If you look at the bottom of this page you will see a white box with 'Google site search' if you type in Wafcol salmon & potato it will take you to all the posts where Wafcol S&P has been discussed on this forum.
You'll find plenty positive reports there :) You are not alone.

If its any help, I use Wainwrights Salmon & Potato from PAH for my springer as he gets colitis & it seems to be doing the job as he hasn't had a bout for over a year now. I started him on the Wafcol but found it a little expensive.

Hi Springfever
I have been using wainwrights salmon and potato but i dont know who makes it for PAH so im a bit put off, but saying that i had very good results with it.
I Agree wafcol is a bit expensive, but i will give it a go for the girls.

Thanks HG that was good idea....very interesting.

Hi Goldie

I fed it regularly quite a while back and the dogs were very bright eyed, bushy tailed and generally enjoying excellent health and condition :)  I did occasionally add a little tinned sardines to some meals but that was for an extra boost to coats (long haired, double coated breed).  I now feed a mix of raw, home cooked and occasionally moist completes for example but that came about for ease when 3 dogs were all on different 'menus' - which was exasperating when going away for overnight stays etc :)

I know several owners who still feed the brand in that variety and their dogs look great.
HTH Teri

Thank you Teri
I am going to give it a try now after HG suggested i googled it. So far they seem good on it, i mix nature harvest or nature menu with it.
Early days so will give it a go. some good reports on it on google.

I fed a puppy with a spotty belly on it after trying prescription diets that had little effect on her.
She cleared up really well I think it was just puppy itchiness really but I kept her on it until she was about two then started feeding wainrights after my local pets at home stopped stocking wafcol it seems equally as good but the wainwrights is rather more fishy smelling and I do think she prefers wafcol.
Now I feed either wafcol or Arden Grange any of the varietys the spots never returned after puppyhood.
Hope this helps

goldie,
just found your post,
i feed wafcol  S&P to some of my gang, they love it, they are nice and solid on it, never refuse it.
have to say that i do add meat and veg to it, cannot bring myself to just give them any dried with out meat and veg.
they also get other things added like pasta ot rice.
just asked on another thread about the puppy food.
