can anyone help??
my boy has had a small scab on top of his head past few days, i think hes rubbed it + it now appears to be turning into a nice sticky hot spot
hes had the same prob before on his head + last time it spread covering the top half of his skull - it took months to fully dry + heal - we called him 'crusty' for months!
the thing is its his + my first time showing at crufts in few weeks so could really do with getting on top of it straight away
does anyone have any reccomendations to help clear it up or at least stop it spreading??
would be grateful for any suggestions  :)

Do a search on wet eczema, there plenty of suggestions and tips. Good luck, and good luck at Crufts. Enjoy

My Goldie has suffered occasionally with hot spots and on the advice of my vet I have always found regularly cleaning with a weak solution of Hibiscrub very effective.  It's very drying and anti-bacterial too.  Useful stuff to have in the house!

I get lost of hot spots during the most humid months. I apply "Gold Bond foot powder" twice a day when I see one starting and it works really well!
I assume if you can't get Gold Bond, any foot medicated powder would do the same.

I used Hibiscrub as well and mine cleared up within days or washing the area twice a day. You'll need to keep the area as dry as possible, so no swimming for him for a while.

My Mals had the occasional hot spot, including Dems who had one just before Crufts!!!!I changed their diets to BARF and have had no problems since. However when we did then a wash with hibiscrub, dry throughly and we used Fuciderm.Collidial silver is also a good remedy.
