We were planning on taking our bitch to Denmark to be mated, but thinking it would be easier importing semen over here and have AI done, spoke to a few people , and they think you have to go to Ireland to have this done, has anybody else done this, were in the North of Scotland, Is there any clinics who deal with this, it wont be til later this year, once my bitches hip/elbows are done.

you could get in touch with Britbreed who are in the East coast and do collections, freezing, storage of semen here and received from overseas. 

They may be able to help you locate someone who would do the AI under the KC rules (make sure those are followed to the letter and approval/permission received before going down this route)

Britbreed are based in Dalkeith. The vet that deals with the canine AI is going to Australia in March/April for a home visit. He's Australian ;-) He is very helpful and friendly. I've been in discussion with him recently which is why I know this :-D

start get the ball rolling know due to all the paper work that needs to go with it.

not sure on rules if importing sperm from denmark,
i think the dog also must have a pet passport for sperm to come to uk,
i know i looked into getting some from ozz and was told has to be stored out there 6 month before i can ship it here,
im still trying to find more info as diff ppl say diff things lol

They also do AI at the Dick Vet, at The Bush Estate near Penicuik. I've only used them for collections and evaluating semen but they do the whole process.
