Yes, that is about the right amount, we are going to be £150, but were in Scotland.

Sounds cheap to me -I would expect to pay around £350 for hips + elbows here.

Sounds good - I've just been quoted over £200 for hips only with the BVA charge on top :)

I think you'll find the joint hip/elbow fee with the BVA has gone up as of January 2009 (according to Kennel Gazette). It is now £75.00 inc VAT.
Glad I got Esme's done before Xmas and struck a deal with my vet so got a good rate (very valued customer that I am LOL).

oops.. obviously my vets havent changed the pricing on their computer yet.. even so.. my vets pricing for doing the plates is superb..roughly £120.00.. always had good plates from them too, in general, have never been able to fault them
Its between £240/270 here for hips/elbows with new price from bva included , depends on weight of dog for GA ,heavier dog may need more

is that just the vets fee or the fee for both the vet and the KC??? My vet charges £45 for one and £75 for both together....plus the fee you have to send to the BVA/KC.

i know glasgow univerity charge £250 for hips and elbow, plus the BVA on top of that, which was £67 on december.

My vets charge an all inclusive price including the BVA fee.. they send their own cheques to the BVA..
other vets I have used in the past..charged their own fees.. and I wrote a seperate cheque out for the BVA which the vet sent off with the plates..
Its niether here nor there how its done.. its still the same price.. but I find writing one cheque preferable to two :-)

Mine was altogether.
In iIreland we were 100 euro for plates to get done and then the bva charge on top,,much less than 200 sterling.
