At what time can you hear the pups with a scope?  Signs are looking good with one of my girls and would love to hear little heart beats.

I can hear from day 40/42.  I think it is harder in bigger breeds.

This article gives a good description of puppy heartbeats and where/when to listen.  I've actually heard heartbeats from 7 weeks onward with my smallish breed.

Thanks guys, she's 5 weeks and two days so looks as though I've still got to wait a while.  This was fourth mating lucky as she's missed the previous three times!

Tried to listen all I could hear was as though something was moving around in a bag of water, wouldn't say heart sounds, although on that site it does say she hears in the 8th week, so will have to have another try on Friday!

Pups were kicking yesterday though, which is my favourite time in the pregnancy, love them moving around inside.

Feels like a football match sometimes with Merl!!!!
What fun they must be having in there?

once you find them you will know, it took me a while but once I got the hang of it it was fascinating.

LOL

sounds like you were listening to her digestive tract, lots of swishing and gurgling :)

Try putting her on her side and lay your hand gently on her tum to find the movements.  Then when you've found that you've more chance of hitting the right spot.  If you think you're feeling a head try to imagine where the rest of the pup might be.  It should sound like she has little watches inside her :)  You'll definitely know when you hear them :)

That's what I thought it was :)  Will have a try again tomorrow as she's 8 weeks on Friday.  Doubt that she'll got full term.

Found out why I could really hear anything, looked like gauze on the end of the stethescope and it fell off today and it was thick plastic :)  Still could really only hear gurgling sounds, but could of sworn that I could hear one of them crying!!  He was really kicking away too.
