I'm looking for a new suit to show my dogs in...
I want one that will compliment a variety of colours, cream, sable, black, brown, buff etc... basically any colour there is out there of dog!!
Has anyone got some magic website or something to look on...
Have tried all the local highstreet shops, ebay, internet.
A friend of mine buys hers in America, but can't find a decent website.
I want a skirt suit too..
Any help greatly recieved.!!

Green goes with all dogs, it's about the only colour that does. Blue is close unless you show merles?
I just keep my eye out on suits everytime I go shopping and end up with 1000's

I agree with ice queen, green goes with just about everything, so does red. Beware of wearing blue unless it is navy or a very pale blue. A black dog against a mid blue background makes the dog look as though it is short of bone, as anybody who has shown a black dog at the Sports Hall at Ryton on Dunsmore will tell you. The entire hall, walls and floor are mid blue.
Thank you for your replys.. i wanted a red or blue one so at least i am on the right lines!!
Where do you buy you suits from??
There was a really nice on in Next but the skirt is too straight, not good when showing Yankees!!

I need a new one for crufts. All the suits seem to be black or pin stripe and i'm sure the white suits will be coming back in again soon. I have a black dog so a dark green or burgandy would be good.
I like the idea of a skirt suit too, but there seems to be an even slimmer chance of finding one.
I've done next, many dept stores, m&s, coast, monsoon.. I'm prepared to pay for a good one, if its going to be my only one for a while.

i am thinking of getting one for crufts as well, i dont own a suit, never needed one before, so think i will buy one for the dog shows. my boy is wheaten, so ill probably just stick with black or grey.

Be careful of red as depending on the shade can clash with red dogs (setters, boxers etc)
To be honest my pefect answer is any many suits in many colours ;) Great for when you handle different breeds so as long as you know what dogs you are showing before you set off you can choose the perfect colour.
Half my wardrope is full of suits and jackets, skirts and trousers, all for dog showing. Still can't find a thing to wear for tomorrow's show!!!!!! :-D

Search for Kaleidoscope.co.uk. I tried to link but it wouldnt work!
Have a look, they seem to have quite a range at reasonable prices. I always struggle to find jackets that are long enough for bending over dogs.

I would LOVE to get a nice pair of burgundy or dark red trousers, can't find any but black brown or navy :( and finding anything but a black jacket in my size is impossible - apparently, smart ladies of my size only wear/want black (do they have any choice? - no!) of course slappers in my size can get anything they want :( :( but I've never worn skimpy/tarty anything - even when I looked like Kylie. I'm NOT going to start now and certainly not at Crufts ;)

I think you may have better luck in one of the larger department stores like Debenhams, John Lewis, House of Fraser etc - they seem to carry styles, colours and materials that elsewhere are out of season or not on trend. Probably pricey though!
HTH, Teri

I would go with grey - I am currently searching for a suit to go with both blenheim (chestnut & white) and tricolour (black & white with tan) Cavaliers - not easy! :-)
the website i linked too does not ship to ireland :-(

One other thing of red after being at a show today....everyone is in red...You need something different now, not the same as everyone else.

i have gone with a black/white mix trouser suit this year, not over expensive from Bon marsh, jacket £30.00, trousers £20 bought 2 pairs, there is also a waistcoat to match.
I normaly go for grey or black. have had dark green, pale blue pin stripe and a burgundy one.
having gone down 3 sizes i needed a new one so went for something a little diffrent this time.
Trousers come in 3 lengths.

hmmm, I smell a gap in the market. A special dog showing clothing store with suits in every colour and guidance about which colour goes with which dog. ;)

Cheeky chow that sounds amazing :-) can they also do larger sizes for petite women too ? :-) oh and not too expensive as I'm strapped for cash LOL
Having dogs which can range in colour between lightish blue grey to almost black by the time we actually get to show day, I need to avoid black and shades of grey or dark blue or my dog will disappear against me (of course some don't seem to mind this lol) I find red is too bright for me, but dark red or burgundy is perfect and shows off my dogs nicely no matter what colour they have acheived on show day ;)
Dill - and the amazing colour changing Bedlingtons :-D
If I was smaller, I'd do as some of my friends and regularly trawl the charity shops. They have some of the most amazing, beautiful, classy show outfits :-D

of course, of course - your wish is the store's desire :) the only downside is that it will have to be made in a sweatshop :(
