Reading our critiques in this weeks dog papers, when our youngest bitch got her first 1st in Limit (done really well in PG with many first then first 4/5 limit classes came down the end of the line and once got slung out) we were really pleased and gave us hope again.  One reason she hasn't been doing well seems to be down to her movement.  there's nothing wrong with it except she wagged her tail, plus rear end which would ruin her movement, so we calmed things down, taught her to hold her tail out but not to wagg it so much...This critique, yup judge commented on how he would have liked to see her taill wagg more and CC and RCC winners had nice comments about taill's wagging!

Just typical, you can't please everyone!!!!!!!  Still VERY pleased with her place and critique, so don't get me wrong, I'm by no means un-happy with my place.

To make it better it started with "Slickly handled" which I am hopeing, and taking as, a compliment, although not sure what is ment by it?  Any suggestions? :-D

I know the feeling, it took me ages to get the weight off of Alf, his frist show with his new "waist" and he got BOS, I was really pleased and guess what the critique said - "would prefer more weight"

As for the tail wagging had to lol I'm afraid as my young boy waggs his tail, his bum & to be honest only his shoulders forward stay in a straight line at that point.  More tail wagging hee hee, we want happy dogs.  But obvsiously it doesn't help much with the movement I suppose, oh well as the title says you can't please 'em all!!!

Gosh I love to see the tail wagging with enjoyment and didn't think that would be a problem although I guess it can throw out the rear movement.  But mostly in Gordons comments are lovely lashing tail!

Well Rox Slickly handled would definitely be a compliment as far as your concerned :)

Maddog it must be something about the tails, Calida is exactly the same, it never ever stays still, she's a nutter!! 

With my girl she walks really close to me like and obedience dog and looks up and it spoils her front movement.  If I try to go faster then she just gets to excited.  Entered her for a show next week and she's on 3 legs, just off to the vets shortly as she has an infected nail bed.

I love a wagging tail when the tail waggs, but when her whole movement looks wrong, it wasn't until we filmed her and watched in slow motion I saw what was happing.  I knew she was a happy girl but she was wagging her body and looking all around and when this was noticable, she didn't win.  But she is still happy as I've never stopped that tail in the ring, or on a show lead, showing is still = huge amounts of attention! 

But ohwell.  LKA was her worst result yet (not being placed) yet after that she went on with BOB's at open shows and great results at boston  and Manchester, Can't be more pleased with her as at Manchester she also came 3rd in the yKC stakes behind two very nice dogs, but also infront of some equally nice dogs!

Unfortantly though no stud book number yet as thats only for 1st and 2nd in open.  But we will keep trying for that RCC for if and when she wins out of limit!

Bring on WELKS (Not holding our breaths for crufts) and hopefully we will find a judge we can please :)

Still really ncie to have my handling complimented after a couple of harsher comments about it, and my handling skills are something I like to take pride in and don't like being knocked back on them in the breed ring

Well there's the proverb of the boy and the old man riding to town with the donkey - whatever they did, they couldn't please everyone! Just do what you feel is best for your dog on that day, and the judge will have to take care of themselves! :-D
