After a missed breeding and the loss of a litter last year, my girl is pregnant.

Just got home from the vets and am still in a fog.  I had convinced myself that she was not pregnant, and so when the ultrasound says yes:   I am having to absorb it all.  There is for sure 3 puppies, but the vet thinks she saw another one up in the ribs.  For a toy dog this is a huge litter.

The first thing I did after making my tea, was call my sister, who owns the stud, and let her know.  Even she was a bit surprised because of the difficulties I have already had trying to bred this bitch.  She figured that the dog attack last year that caused her to loss the litter would have done some damage, so figured the odds of getting a breding were slim.

Now I have to really get my act together, as now I have just over 3 weeks to get the whelping box set up and convince Cas that she really wants to be in that bed, (as she loves the couch).

Congratulations on the good news. It gives me hope. My bitch has missed this time so fingers crossed for next time. Knowing someone else has had a bitch miss and then go on to become pregnant is very uplifting.

This bitch has silent heats, so the first time I tried to bred her I missed her fertile time.  By the time I realized she was in heat the male was no longer interested.
When I bred her last year she was attacked by a "pit bull" and I lost the litter.
This time I only realized she was in heat because I by chance had the male at my house for training purposes.  So when the male was very interested and he has the qualities that I am trying to improve in my girl, I contacted the owner (my sister) to check to make sure it would be ok with her.
Have to admit it is easier when the male is at your home, no having to figure out what day in her cycle it is, and then travel to the male, and hope you didn't miss any days of her heat.

Do I need to say CONGRATULATIONS??????   Was so happy to see the little heart beats today!

Now your work begins, hehe (I know you will drag me into it too! lol)

I know the trouble, and heartbreak you have had trying to get a Casie puppy.  And I am only joking when I say that you will only get males, and they will all be blue (to everyone else - I asked mom what she would do if she got a singleton pup, that was male, that was a blue - seeing as thats definately what she DIDNT want).

Start the countdown Mom!!!!!
