Can anyone suggest a remedy for stopping over excitability in a 20 week bitch pup who keeps jumping up?

Firstly, remain calm yourself. :-) When she does it, calmly and quietly take hold of her collar and telling her firmly "no" or "down" push her down so that she has all four feet on the ground. Release the collar, when you feel her relax or when she stops trying to jump up. Then tell her calmly and quietly that she is a good girl.

The other thing that you could try is telling her "no", turning your back on her and walking away. Ignore her and do not make any eye contact with her (or she will immediately jump up again) until she is calm again. Consistency is the clue, if you want to cure her. Everyone must react the same way to her, or it won't work :-)
