- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.01.09 16:46 UTC
I hope that to.
- By Wiltshireone [gb] Date 17.01.09 16:52 UTC
hello all, i am under going the delivery from hell! She appears not to have contractions without the use of oxytosin. She has had 3 jabs and 3 puppies and still more to come. This has taken days! My vet wants to avoid csection as she is capable of pushing them ou but it takes forever! Havent been to bed since the day before yesterday!!! Mind poor mum.

she is fab with the babies. She doesnt want to leave them to deliver the next. I have one that seems to be reluctant to feed although fed initially as it was teh first.

All 3 girls so far, nice weights and doing well.

Sorry it took me so long to update. Been to vets twice, she delivered one on his floor! Well, still going x
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.01.09 16:54 UTC
Oh thank god! 3 girls so far, you must be delighted albeit a really difficult whelping, thankyou for letting us know, was starting to fear the worst, so glad all is going relitively well.
- By Dogz Date 17.01.09 17:02 UTC

> Hope this posts haven't a clue what i'm doing!:-)

(welcome! you've posted fine :))

so glad they are at least coming safely! we were all on tenderhooks!
- By Wiltshireone [gb] Date 17.01.09 19:34 UTC
Bad news! Currently having csection for the final pups. Not sure everyones views on this but not happy with vets. They gave me oxytosin injections to bring home and inject her with. She had 3 and he offered me a 4th despite her not delivering on the 3rd. he was out to prove she could self whelp. It was too long and too much for her. I told him that but he wouldnt have it and now 2 scans a blood test 3 injections 3 consultations later she is having the csection!

I just want her home, so do her 3 girls.
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.01.09 19:39 UTC Edited 17.01.09 19:46 UTC
Oh no :-(   I can understand you not being very happy, its been a very long whelping for her, glad the vet is now doing the ceasar at last, I had no idea that vets gave people oxytocin to take home and inject their dog themselves, my best wishes your girl and her other babes are ready to come home soon.
- By Astarte Date 17.01.09 19:42 UTC
our girls went like this to (needless to say my family didn't mate her again), lots of oxitocin then finally a section- for the 0 remaining pups. the vet scanned her wrong and thought there were some left.

not that your will have done this i'm sure! if your unhappy with the treatment talk to the head of practice about it.

hope shes home shortly {{{hug}}}
- By GG1 [gb] Date 17.01.09 19:45 UTC
I thought it was illegal to administer at home yourself unless it was for things like epilipsy? I am probably wrong and it does not really matter now as long as the mum and pups are fine. Good luck and let us know when she is home. God, this is exhausting, im off for a Gin & Tonic!!
- By newfiedreams Date 17.01.09 19:53 UTC
As long as the Vet makes a judgment about competance it's ok...on his head be it! I'm far more worried about the Vets inability to listen to an owners concerns!
- By Zajak [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:00 UTC
Hope the remaining babies are delivered safely, I am sure mum will be fine after c section so try not to worry (easier said than done I know)!  Gonna join in with the g and t's.
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:02 UTC
I think we'll all have a celebratory drink and breathe a sigh of relief when mum and babes come home and the new family can get to know eachother at last.
- By Zajak [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:05 UTC
I'm also waiting to hear about my friend (another CDF member) who went into have her baby (human!) yesterday, still haven't heard anything.  Nailbiting couple of days!
- By Wiltshireone [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:12 UTC
Just had a call. My girl is fine, yipee! Oh and there were two more pups. 1 girl who died and 1 very large boy who is fine.

just waiting half an hour and i can reunite the family.......i cant tell you how relieved i am its over (or just begun dependant on your thought process!).
- By GG1 [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:15 UTC
Sorry about the one pup but thank god the others are all ok. Im gonna have a further drink to celebrate!! Now the hard works starts!!  Lots of hugs to all!!!!!!
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:18 UTC
I'm so glad for you :-) the worst is over now, you'll collect your girl and her boy soon (sorry about the little girl)  I hope you can all have a somewhat more relaxing night than the past two have been :-)
- By Dogz Date 17.01.09 20:21 UTC
So glad to hear she's okay.
Reckon this is the begining of your fun, lets hope the boy is ready for all those little girls.
Good luck and hope you have someone to take the pressure off you so you can take a break.

Karen :)
- By Zajak [gb] Date 17.01.09 20:23 UTC
Sorry to hear about the little girl.  Glad mum is ok, bet her girls will be pleased to have her back.
- By newfiedreams Date 17.01.09 20:27 UTC
Thank goodness everything is ok and at least Ma and a little(BIG) boy is ok and coming home together! All the best for the future, take care, Dawn x
- By STARRYEYES Date 17.01.09 22:08 UTC
so glad to hear family now back together.
it makes a change for a vet to actually consider Mum can deliver and giving that extra bit of time ...some jump right in too soon when a natural delivery is possible.Although this time he seems to have judged wrongly I would give him a bit of credit that he wasnt after your cash!

take care

R~

I agree.  He may also have been concious this breed does not make the most maternal of mums at the best of times without a wound to add to it.
- By Carole g [gb] Date 17.01.09 22:16 UTC
The result is very good news, it will be super to see mum tucked up contentedly with her babes.
- By TrishlovesMiley [gb] Date 17.01.09 22:23 UTC
Phew, thank goodness the out come is that peppa is home with some babies. V sad about little girl but an excellent result for mum in the end. Have been reading lots bout pugs as Miley chose me in september they really are an amazing breed and mine surprises me every day. At 4 months old she is soooooo naughty, I'm totally envious that you have a whole litter to look forward to!
I bet you're shattered, do you have someone you can share night shift with so you can get good amount of rest? Bet you don't wanna leave them now!
Can you post pics and stuff on this site, soz am Forum virgin! So far it's been very welcoming! Thankyou
Trish

Oww I dunno...he managed a few scans, several appointments, few injections and still ended up having the c section!!!(I am joking by the way!) ;-)
