Ok, Now I have three rather large bundles of brain dead fun!! Bless them!! I have been looking around at the available insurance policies out there, I am currently insured through a company that advertise with a big red phone however have only once needed to claim and it was a very straightforward process. I want to pick your brains to see what is out there and any good or poor experiences you have had. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated!!

Until recently I used MoreThan, was with them for about four years. In that time I had to claim for emergency eye surgery (weekend referal to a specialist, dont you just love it when that happens?!*rolls eyes*). They paid up with no qualms, all very swift and easy. Didnt even cause the premiums to go up after £2000 worth of surgery and treatments.

They are pretty cheap at £15.99 a month, top cover for a pedigree.

Might be worth investigating to see if it suits you. :-)

Only ever used More Than, claimed for one dog to have same operation twice, paid all bills no problem and when she went to live with my sister they cancelled (paid monthly)the policy without any penalties.
Still have my other dogs insured with them and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Two Rough Collies insured with Direct Line here, also an RG postcode - £42.40 per month for the pair of them, don't know what the split is. One is 2.5 years old, no claims (touches wood) and the other is 8.5 years old ... and Direct Line must rue the day they ever heard her name. Fit as a fiddle, but accident prone doesn't begin to touch it LOL. I think what I've claimed back for her has probably covered every bit of insurance for every dog I've owned.

They have always paid out without quibble, although they are a bit slower these days.

I have two Danes one over 7 £28 per month and one 17 months £18 per month both with AXA. Excellent cover, they pay vet direct and quickly as well.

1 Mastiff, Pet Plan insurance, £37 per month. Fast, hassle-free payout - pay vets direct. £6,000 vets fees per year, on-going conditions covered.

It's worth checking with your vets weather there are any insurance companies they will not deal direct with, allthough most companies will pay the vets direct, our vets wouldn't accept that from some companies due to history of poor payout.
