I DONT MIND PAYING FOR THE DEARER FOOD BUT JUST WONDERED IF ITS WORTH CHANGING.. THANKS ANDREA
Hi AMDWHITE
Welcome to the site, (capital letters make a post so much harder for us to read, so could you please us lower case. :-) )
Secondly, diet certainly can effect a dogs flatulence problems you could try to change to a low fat, fibre and protein formulation such as Hills puppy for large dogs, or Iams large puppy, which can help reduce flatulence, though I think for a Bullmastiff type dog I would also be adding some BARF feed, starting with chicken wings. Before you change to a food like this or similar though just to check is your dog also having any toileting issues diarrhoea, constipation or vomitting, continual flatulence can also be a sign of an internal problem if there are any of the other signs also, please take your pup to the vet for a check over, it is best to have everything ruled out.
Sometimes the right food for your dog can take a while to sort out, what is good for one isn't for another, so many find foods give probs one way or another, if you change foods, introduce slowly by just mixing in with the normal puppy food you already have as this can also cause diarrhoea if you change quickly.
Good luck and if it continues please take your pup for a vet check to rule out anything more serious.
hi and thanks for replying, he has no diarroea or any issues in that department so i mite try a different kind and intrduce it slowly like you said and see if it makes a differance if not i will pop him along to the vets just to make sure. thanks andrea

Feeding a dog pineapple can help stop them eating their own poo ;) Raw grated Courgette is also supposed to work ;)
If he's farting, smells and eats his own poo tho, my guess is that the food doesn't agree with him
Do get him checked out tho, it could be something causing it ;)

This has made me laugh, I know its a horrible problem for you to get to the "bottom" of. I have a great dane that has a habbit of waiting until my partner has settled on the sofa for the evening then face to face lets off a large belch!! Its so funny, she does not do it to anybody else but on a regular basis he gets it!! I have started adding Pilchards to her food so she gets the aroma as well as the noise!! Its so funny and she really looks pleased with herself!!
I do hope that you can find the issue causing the excess wind, Im not in a hurry to sort mine!! ;)

Ditto what Carrington has said re the flatulence and diet. Royal Canin is a great food, but like others, does not suit all.
With regard to him eating his own poo, or Coprophagia as it is know, a friend has had good success with a product called Deter which comes is tablet form. If you goolge "coprophagia deter" it is very easy to source on-line.
