My bitch has 5 day out puppies who are all doing very well - gaining weight and looking plump and settled.  However, my problem is my bitch who is being such a fussy eater.  She will only eat if I handfeed her (no problem I think that's the least she deserves) but I think I have found something she likes, she eats a bit for one meal and then the next flatly refuses it.  I am running out of ideas, I have tried chicken, fish, kidney, scrambled egg, sardines, but not much luck. Any suggestions for tasty food that may tempt her?  At this rate she is going to be skin and bone in a few weeks time.  She has been checked by the vet who gave her a clean bill of health.

My girl did this and all she would eat was sausages which had to be hand fed, this went on for a couple of weeks then she ate roast chicken and Naturediet (not hand fed), after that she went back to normal eating, bit of a faff but it wont last so just pander to her for as long as she wants, I got the feeling it was because my girl didnt want to stop taking care of the pups for a second not even to eat.

Thanks that may be exactly the problem.  She has a bite, then nuzzles the pups, then another bite.  She is a very devoted mother bless her.
