Ditto what JG said :)
Threads are locked when they go over 200 posts :) :)
Hope there is some good news soon :) :)
Lea :) :)

Hope all is going ok.

Wasn't me, maybe it had just got too long?
All my lovely supportive friends out there I can now offer the conclusion which is really hard given that it is the expected bad news regarding the pregnancy. Vet just phoned to confirm that there were indeed TWO pups so yes scans can be wrong, now sadly very much liquified in uterus so no viable pups! The debate over speying has been ressolved, the current remains can not be removed completely and leaving any part will be of risk to the bitch so they are speying (as I requested so thats one result) They have said there is some potential problems given she has milk in with speying but they can give her some drugs for that. On a positive note or rather two, she is at the moment well and not having a C section may have made her ill! The other good point is they are at my request cutting her nails!!!! LOL She is one of five dogs I have and hates having her nails clipped so it is a real struggle, I have taken advantage of the GA!
I will post again when I have little lady home later tonight, know many of you will feel very sad about all this but nature has a way and we must follow it. For future readers who like me rely on this site for answers to concerns or questions then I would say - Any irregular colour discharge however slight during pregnancy take your dogs to the vets!!!!!! and secondly, regarding scan numbers - scanned for 1, had 2 - say no more!
Best wishes all, do not be sad and with some luck I will share some news maybe next year with my younger bitch.
You have all made a very worrying time over what should be a joyous period all the more easier to bear!
Best wishes

I dont understand, why lock a thread that is so popular, used by members of this site and not abused?? Should it matter if it even reached 300 posts???? All we are doing is showing our support for a champdogs friend, If I was in that situation I would be so happy to see so many people who actually care.
Anyway, just popped home to see if there was any news, I hope and pray that we get some good news, our support and love is with you at this extreemly stressful time.

How disappointing for you, but at least your girl is well and that is of course the main thing!
Positive thoughts for speedy healing x

I so sorry taggabags :-( at least you have an answer now, I'm very glad your girl didnt get ill through all this and I'm sure with your TLC she will get over the spey quickly, I do feel a bit sad for you as I'm sure the others will to but your girl is safe and thats the main thing, take care :-)
Oh what a shame but at least your bitch will be ok now and you can go to your own bed again. Hope your girlie is home again safe soon.
So sorry for you. Hope your girl is well though that is the most important thing now.

So sorry about your news but glad to hear your little girl is ok after her op.

Am sorry that it was the expected outcome, but pleased she is now being sorted and will hopefully settle quite quickly after she gets home
Lea :) :)

(As for the posts, trawling through 4 pages is hard enough to find some information you want but through 8, 10, 20 etc would be a nightmare, and I actually give up after the first 4 pages on other forums !!!! ;) ;) )

Sorry to hear about the disappointment, but glad she'll soon be back to her old self again.

GG1,
> I dont understand, why lock a thread that is so popular, used by members of this site and not abused?? Should it matter if it even reached 300 posts????
I
believe its more to do with the fact that 'heavy' threads may affect the smooth running of the forum at busy traffic times. One or two of course won't but then that would become a major headache for Admins&Mods wouldn't it as to which threads would be allowed to run on and which wouldn't. I can understand from that P.O.V. then why it is fairer to have the 'one rule for all' (see TOS) that once threads go over the hundred odd marker they may have to be locked.
If there has been nothing that is against TOS then there is no reason discussion cannot be resumed in a new thread. You will see this happens alot with threads such as Big Brother,Strictly,PDE etc...
I think in this instance we were actually given quite a bit of leeway, I can't think of any other threads recently that ran over the 200 mark!
HTH? :)
LOL on the issue of thread entries, atleast with all the doom that this issue has caused we can say we have possibly had the record for thread posts (hope Mod and Admin see funny side), I also feel that the timing of this is significant in that most of us were stuck to very boring TV over the festive time hence the ability to check posts, add comment and view. It is also a plus that CD has so many hits so good for credibility! Regardless of limitations etc, it was truly wonderful the interest, contribution and support that this record breaking topic generated regardless.
Hopeful little miss is home soon - now left waiting for the come collect and pay your bill - LOL. Now then another point, all my babies are insured but I know that breeding is not covered. A good breeder friend mentioned that it might be permissable to claim for the Spay as it was on medical grounds so thus resulting in some of the cost falling to the insurers - any experience of this out there? Insurance company is a large supermarket - Every Little Helps

Sorry to hear your news. As you say, the main thing is that your girl is doing well.
And well done you for staying so positive, all the best with your younger bitch next year.

Ahhh, like so many others I am so sad to read the news but also so glad that the little girl in question is going to be ok. It would have been wonderful to have had lovely news re a live puppy or two but as Taggabags herself has bravely said, it wasn't to be.
More ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) for you and good luck with your younger bitch....will you have us all on the edge of our seats again I wonder?
I am insured with "every little helps" too and they were ok paying out for our bitch last year but not breeding related. I think it will depend how the vet words it on the claim form!
Good luck with that too, I should think that it would help.
Take care.
I am so sorry to hear this. Don't know what else to add so just take care of your little lady and yourself and hopefully you will have better luck next year with your younger bitch.

So sorry for your girl.
At least the only way is up for her now.
When my boy was neutered the vet suggested as it was at their suggestion not my 'whim' they could claim on insurance form for me. I was delighted that it was accepted and insurance paid out. (pinnacle).
Karen

So sorry to hear your news, but hopefully your girl will recover quickly from the spay operation. ((hugs))
ive been following this thread now for ages in hope of some good news, so sorry for you but at least your girl is ok take care and best wishes.

Taggabags if the vet says on the form that they recommended the spey on medical grounds then the insurance will pay for it, ask your vet about it.
so sorry to hear the sad new, it was very sad reading it, you should be able to claim that back.
wishing little miss a speedy recovery!
Also very sorry to hear your news, what a terrible shame.

Taggabags.....so sorry about the sad outcome after all this time! Hope you girl is home with you by now.

Sorry that this was the outcome, like everything in life we always hold on to that chance, however small, for a favorable outcome.Sadly not to be in this instance.Maybe with all the support and interest you have had on this site you could write a book to raise some funds to pay for the vet costs?Anyway my thoughts are with you and hope 2009 improves for you.

So sorry to hear the news, good to hear your girl will be ok I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

>I don't know why the other thread was locked??? Good grief there was nowt bad in it!
For your information, threads that go over a set number of posts are locked by the system. Nothing sinister or bad, just simple forum management of threads that become to large.
Taggabags - Thank you for your comments. Your post was very interesting and this showed in the level of debate that it generated and which I hope helped you at what was and is a difficult time.
