really need advice.
we went away for xmas and when i came back my 16 month old girl had come into season early!! unfortunatly i dont know exactly what day she started to bleed, but i noticed today she has stopped. does this mean she is no longer in season? is it safe for her to mix with dogs?
i REALLY dont want her mated there will be no pups for her lol!

thanks k

No, usually when the bleeding stops is when they are most receptive.

The season will be over when her girly bits shrink and close up, which may be up to 4 weeks from when bleeding starts.

On the other hand some bitches bleed through the whole season.

thanks i was just wondering as i was reading through a few sites and one said that when the bleeding stopped it was over and another said that this is when she would normally mate?
there is so much information on line i suppose some of it has to be wrong!!
thank you for the speedy reply! kx

I think what may be meant is that when 'discharge' stops (normally goes from bloody to straw coloured and then clear) the season is over.

is it nor mal then that she is crying?? is that just because she is ready or is she in any pain? she has not been herself through out her season!
just want to make sure she is ok!!
thanks k

The drive to mate can be very strong and confusing too.  If there is no sign of smelly discharge, excessive drinking etc, then it is certainly normal for a bitch not to be herself in season, she is being ruled by her hormones.
