My girl is obviously a small breed and certainly at the moment (7 weeks preg) her nipples are very close to the ground. Too close this morning in the snow!

my question is a strange one. Her nipples are dirty, black with dirt from being kicked up as she walks. With the concern of infection to the new pups will i need to bath her or wash her as soon as she gives birth or will her immunity mean the new pups can just latch right on?

I know, an odd question to ask but i am looking at her now and thinking everything else around her is sterile except her!!!!

Try baby sterilizing tablets desolve them in warm water then wash her nipples,
