hi as many of you now i have a little of 8 gorgeous puppys. all seem to be coming on well. mother is fab with them and really strating to understand her job. now when she sitis on them as soon as they cry she moves away. anyway wer have been thinking about what brand of food to put them on. has anyone got any preferences. we were going to use beta as thats what my dogs were on when i got them but my partner has seen some really nice eukanuba puppy packs which he is keen to buy and give out with the buyers, so we then thought about using eukanuba instead. also anyone tell me what they use first before they wear them onto that some people tell me mince others say weetabix and others say scrabled egg.?????????

Cannot for the life of me see the point of giving pups Weetabix - there's no goodness in it for them, but they'll poo for britain :(

I use scraped raw beefsteak (frozen first then defrosted) just a pea sized amount to get them interested.  Once they are eager to eat it and are on about a teaspoon, I move to raw mince (again frozen and defrosted) once a day.  After the first week I start soaking JWB puppy kibble and mashing it and add that as another meal.   Once they are eating this well and on a few meals a day, by about 6 weeks, I start giving a little topping of scrambled eggs, grated cheese, mince, etc on the soaked JWB.   The only reason I do this is to ensure they are used to a variety of foods before they leave home, that way there is always something to tempt them with if they are ever ill ;)  On this diet they only seem to poo after their meals, very small amount to pick up and predictable so it's easily dealt with ;)

Can't comment on Eukanuba - never used it, never will.  Personally, I feel that it's too expensive for the quality of the ingredients ;)

I chose JWB because it's a quality food, the dogs do well on it, which would be easily available to the puppy owners when they needed to replace what I'd given them ;)

I also use JWB. (But first wean onto mince.) If you join their breeder's club and buy 2 bags from them directly you will be entitled to free puppy packs.

I weaned my pups on JWB, and scrambled eggs, minced chicken, raw meat minced, weetabix is a fibre food, which just goes right through them, with no goodness being absorbed.
At 5-6weeks my lot were on chicken wings, meat minced, and JWB soaked, they also had Goats milk to drink.
By the time they left to go to there new homes, they ate dry food, with either tripe or  raw chicken drumsticks, I know new owners dont stick to the diets you recommend, but I like to give them the best start in life.

I start my puppies on readybrek mixed with welphing milk. I sit with them, with it on my fingers so they lick it off then move the dish up to there mouths till they start to lick out of it. Some do it quicker than others. I then give them tinned tuna it is soft and easier for them to eat. They can choke on dry food, don't give it to them to young they havn't got teeth to chew it.

I wean my pups onto Pedigree Puppy Porridge, it's great stuff, easy to mix and the pups love it.

I use Eukanuba for my pups.  I mix up a puppy porridge using goats milk  to start off with, then move them on to it soaked, until they are old enough to have it dry (about 10 weeks).   Also add a spoonful of live yoghurt with each meal once they are off porridge stage.  If you join the Eukanuba breedrs club you can get the puppypacks for free, which include 1kg of puppy food, a container, measurin cup, clicker and info plus money off voucher.

You need to apply to James Wellbeloved, now I picked the form up at Crufts, but you can contact them via their website and just ask them to send it to you: http://www.wellbeloved.com/about_us/contact_us.aspx
