My GSD bitch always has a noisy stomach, normally it is worse during the night. The last week or so I have noticed that it has really been going overtime and I was wondering if anyone else's dogs have this. She is absolutely fine in herself, wormed about 2 months ago, is fed dry complete food - two meals a day about 7am and 6pm and then gets a gravy bone at bedtime (11pm).
Have you tried splitting meals into 3 or perhaps if you want to stick to two, feeding the 2nd one later? Sounds like she is getting hungry in the night.
Henry's would make really loud noises and he would be disturbed in the night from it. So I always make sure I give him a big supper now.
I used to have a toy poodle which seemed to suffer this problem on a fairly regular basis but I have to say when he was like this he would not eat anything. Having been to one or two different vets the vet I go to with the 2 poodles I have now prescribed Buscopan for him which helped him a lot. My current 2 occasionally have the same problem as yours but they don't go off their food so I don't worry about it as it doesn't seem to bother them at all. I have to add my previous dog was also diagnosed with collitis but lived till he was nearly 14.
Could be a build up of acid in the stomach, 2 of my dogs sometimes suffer from gurgling stomachs. I usually give them some Antepsin a hour before feeding ,which seems to help them.
I agree with you Kenya, Floyd has pancreatitus, and this is one of the first signs that he is going to have an off day, and his stomach makes the most amazing really loud noises, I give him one of his doggy antiacids and then get some food into him about half an hour later, then he is fine. Jane
