A lot depends on how long ago you bought the pup. (In other words would the breeder have known the pup was sick, and was it a problem they could have forseen, or tested the parents to minimise the chances of it occuring in the puppies. In this I mean were the parents tested, hip scored, eye tested etc. Even with the best of care and preventative measures it is impossible to guarantee that a puppy will remain healthy.

If the puppy was misrepresented, and was sick at time of purchase, and this was not pointed out to you, then you may have a case, contacting trading standards may be worth while, especially if the pup was commercially bred.

Have you contacted the breeder with a vets report on the pup, as if the breeder is a reputable one they will wish to guard their reputation.

Hi Guest, you really have not given us enough info to give helpfull advice. If you would like to join and post again with more detail and how & when the pup became sick. Did you take the pup to a vet within a couple of days of getting it, was he sick then? Do let us have more detail we are as keen as you to make sure that sick puppies are not sold to a new owner until the pups health is restored, but it could well be it is not the breeders fault, we will only know if you tell us. Ja:)kie

I had a pup who was bought off myself. She was fine when she left me. After a few weeks etc. she started doing both her motions in her sleep. The vet told the puppy owner that she must have serious bowel prob's and that she needed a no. of tests. Details have prev. been posted re. this.

Owner phoned up last week to say that the bitch had all the tests done because she was still having problems and absolutely nothing was found wrong with her.

We really do need to know how long your dogs had the problem, how long have you had her, what help, if any the breeder has given you (or advice).

Hope things aren't too serious and I wish you all the best with your pup.
