Hi there guest,
I have a GSD and his hair gets everywhere. As he is white, it really stands out against carpets etc. However, we are getting an Alaskan Malamute in three weeks so I guess that i'll be able to answer your question then. I am expecting the mal to shed a lot more than the GSD. Their coats seem a lot thicker. Then my family can watch out, hair bolognese for tea LOL.

The Malamute will shed more during molting season than what the GSD will. The undercoat is far denser and can actually be combed out in handfuls, or gently pulled out in large tufts. Which is logical if one considers that the Malamute was bred to work in the artic areas.
