By now I think I'd have begged, borrowed or stolen a stethoscope just to put my mind at rest LOL
We're ALL going to be grey by wednesday
Thought had crossed my mind, been trying to think of who I might know with a stetho but sadly no medical type folk I know of, bet when I get back into work tomorrow half my work mates will say "should have said, I have one" LOL. Things like this will boost the sale of hair dye LOL
Don't panic anybody viewing, I work from HOME so it will be multitasking at it's best, bitch watching, emails and telcons all in one go - thank goodness I am a woman - oops is that sexist?

Shame you're not a bit closer to Bristol, I have a scanner I could of had a good look for you free of charge.
Hiya Taggabags, The suspense is awful for me never mind you. Years age I had abitch who total inertia, my vet advised to let her stay where she wanted to be until the piont of no return IE. pup on its way, but she never got there and after 3 days over due she had a ceaser, (zipper job) so please dont wait too long have you been to the vet lately? Also do remember that she will only have her pups when she actually released her eggs, so she could have been mated and the sperm can live for up to 5 days inside of her.So many differant thoughts on this, please let us all know when the pups come as soon as you have a chance to.

This suspense is awful for the rest of us, can't imagine whats its like for you. I am keeping all fingers and toes crossed for a happy outcome. If this is her due day, would not leave it too long either to contact the vet. Good luck

i will keep popping in and hopefully you'll have some news soon.

Got in from work and logged on hopeing :-o
Hopefully as she is normally at the computer all day working (by her own admission!!) something has happened and she is too busy :) :)
Lea :) :)
Oh guys so sorry to keep you all going all day, yes have been at work all day and as first day back did not get chance to log on - NO NEWS on little miss, looking as usual, bit preggers, pointed teats blah blah blah! Having not spent all day with her for first day in ages was a bit weird, she had a bed in my office but did not bother coming in much so I had my eyes off her so to speak all day!!! Bet she was pleased as sure she thinks me a stalker! If was or is pregnant we are now on Day 65, take on board comment that she may have caught a few days after mating so we may not be on day 65 LOL! However, one thing for sure she is at the vets (last check up was two days ago) for a scheduled C section on Wednesday with the proviso that if she changes in any way i.e. looks unwell then straight down the vets! I can stilll not get my head round having had a dead puppy in there for what will now be two weeks surely it would be making her ill? We shall see but you have all made me smile with your frantic posting! We are on target for the highest number of posts on a single thread - 2009 record?
Keeping my chin up and will update tomorrow or sooner IF anything happens!
N
You know what guys I am so calm about this now it's unreal - will be a bit on edge on Wednesday when I take her in, pending a call to confirm no puppies or a MASSIVE surprise if there is one? Keep the support going guys, we may have a little miracle yet.
Just another thought for you all to chew over. I asked the vet if he would spay her if a C section goes ahead as she is now getting older and will not be breeding her in future but he declined as he said that both were "considerably invasive and very vascular" and that it was only in a emergency or for pet charities i.e. PDSA that do both at same time - was not a problem as I do not have any entire males so we will need to get her spayed later if required.
Take care guys (N spending 10th night on sofa!)

Thanks for the update, still crossing fingers and sending good vibes (as well as checking in every few hours LOL)
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((more hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hi taggabags, glad she is still doing well :-) funny how some vets are really, I had a bitch spayed at the time of a C section because I will not breed them again after a ceasar, there seemed to be no problem about doing it at all, my girl and one live pup (the boy had died) recovered from the op and she nursed the pup very well and being speyed at the same time didnt seem to cause any probs at all, all vets are different I suppose, will look in again later :-)

Mmm makes me wonder if it it a financial thing with the vet (not condemning your vet :) ) they will make more cash putting her through another anaethetic to be spayed as its that which costs I would ask him if I would get a reduction in the cost ;) . Also in my breed they react pretty bad to anaethetics so to go through it twice would be a no no. just a thought!!
Finger crossed for your girl and hope you have a happy ending to this traumatic fortnight.

Have got my fingers crossed So tightly :-)

My last girl was spayed at the same time as her c-section too, my vet actually asked ME if I wanted it done, we had planned it any way so as long as he thought it was safe - which he did, we went ahead.
When my Daisy lost a litter 4 years ago, she was scanned at 5 weeks, my vet thinks the litter died a day or so after her last scan, 16 days later she started passing dead mummified pups, a total of 5. This was over 2 weeks since the litter died, she show no signs of illness, nor did she pass any discharge until that first pup arrived. She was on day 53
As you have seen movement from your girls tummy I would definitely NOT give up hope, keeping everything crossed for you.

> he declined as he said that both were "considerably invasive and very vascular"
Hi taggabgs, not gone grey yet then? Everybody on CD is going to have their own opinion on this one. So, forgive me for giving yet another one! I, like others have mentioned, won't breed from a bitch once she has needed a C-section. I, however, won't have the bitch spayed until 12 weeks after the section. I fully appreciate what people say about another anaesthetic, and yes, it is more expensive. But doing both at the same time runs higher risk of a stump pyo. I know they are not common, and I know there has never been one at the surgery I use. But it is certainly a more difficult spay for the surgeon (difficult, not impossible.) I haven't had any problems with the bitches that have had the two operations, as I said, this is my personal choice, and it's good to have input from people with different experiences.

The bitch of mine that had a C section was spayed at the same time. As she was due to be spayed anyway I did not want to put her through two surgeries, and my Vet was happy to do it as long as the section went smoothly and quickly.

Hi taggabags, how is she doing?
Just got home after a holiday and picked up this thread, I know there has been 183 comments so far so when it clocks up I look see whats going on. Its killing me and its day 2 since I have had access to the internet....... whats happening now?????????????????????

my girl had another season after her c-section on vet's advise, she only had the 1 litter 2 pups(kept both), would not breed her again,as did not think it was fair.(her daughter also had to have a section, grandmum whelped easy) kept a bitch from her so wondering if when she is may have the same problem anyone else had this?
i do know people who have had 3/4 sections from 1 bitch.
Still praying for you girl, and a live birth.
Sound asleep! D Day tomorrow so once it is all done either way I will let you all know ASAP!
Phew, what a end and start to the year!
Regards

Good luck for tomorrow.....for you and your girl and hopefully a pup!

Adding my good luck wish to, I presume your girl will have to go in first thing tomorrow?
Yvonne.

Good luck for tomorrow!!
I have been trying not to add to the thread so people wouldn't think something has happened, but couldn't hold out any longer and as tomorrow seems to be the D day, I wanted to add my support!
Positive Vibes sent to you both!

in reply to your post 'surely it would be making her ill', when i had similar problems vet said (not my vet, on call vet) that if i had left any longer the pups would have died then very quickly it would have made mum ill?!! obviously all vets say different stuff but if this is true there is still hope. Will be thinking of you tomorrow, that hour (or in my case it was 2) is the worst, i drove my husband crazy pacing the bedroom in the middle of the night, hope all goes ok xxx
clare

i am internet-less tomorrow. sob.
best of luck and i do so hope she's got a pup (or two??) in there.

I have not posted on this thread as yet, but I now have succumbed. I have been avidly reading the updates, I normally check in at least two times a day like some of the others do, waiting for a smidge of news with bated breath.
