Hiya Sam,
I have a You Tube channel and have found the time of day is sometimes a hinderance to uploading videos. If You Tube is particularly busy your upload time can time out before you have finished uploading your video...very annoying. Video uploading on there can take anywhere between a couple of minutes to a few hours. If after 8 hours you still see a status message next to the video saying "Uploaded (processing, please wait)," try removing the video from You Tube and uploading it again, just click the "Remove Video" button below the video in question in "My Videos" and go through the full upload process again.
You have to make sure the video youre trying to upload is less than 1GB or it wont upload at all , if your video is bigger than this, this could be your problem. If you have checked the size of your video and it is fine make sure your video is under 10 minutes in length. you tube accepts most video file formats, including .wmv, .mov, .mpg, or .avi. If your video meets these minimum requirements and still won't upload, there may be a problem with the video compression you're using. They recommend the MPEG4 format at 640x480 resolution with MP3 audio.
I hope this helps a bit

lol ....You Tube has a mind of its own Sam, I'm always having to deal with the problems it throws up from time to time.....the server was probably just busy ,You tube does funny things when its busy.
The more you use it the more you will get used to these little annoying things.
Glad you managed to get it sorted though in the end :)
