I have a 7 month old pom, male, and I would like to breed him with another AKC pom. He is very beautiful. My question is: How old or how long do I need to wait before I try to breed him? How long will the other pom be pregnant? Also, if there are any tips at all, I would like to hear them.

Heres a tip for you: Study the breed, show your dog to see whether it is a good example of the breed standerd, study the breed standerd, find a suitable bitch, and learn all you can from other people read loads of books and get a very good knowledge of what you are doing before you even consider breeding.

From the question you have asked you obviously have not got a clue what to do and where to start. It is all very easy to stick any 2 dogs together and expect a litter, you wait till you have a litter you will come across things you have not got the slightest clue about, you need to know ALL these things before you rush into it.

I think you should buy a good book about the breed that you have, because if you breed your male now the bitch would not take as it would be like potato water at this age.

A dog produces healthy semen from a very early age and is capable of fathering puppies anytime, my youngest producer was a GSD who destroyed my parents back door and the garage door to get at a bitch in season, he was 61/2mths at the time. The bitch went on to produce 11 puppies and I had an £800 bill just to replace a double car garage door, let alone anything else.
