......Well I'm guessing by now we've all scoffed our weight in chocolate, crisps, turkey & general junk food so now its those final days before we start our news years resolutions.

Whats your's going to be?

Apart from the old classic of diet & excerise until March then some reason it all stops..............something to do with Crufts & those ginormas hot dogs that are bigger than me?!? Mine is to make more time for my BF & save my spare cash so we can buy our own place soon :)
- By pavlova [gb] Date 29.12.08 12:29 UTC
I,m only going to buy what I really really need and always pay cash.
Hopefully

Stop biting my nails (yet another attempt, i get them really long and they look nice then when i get stressed, i bite them lol) erm... keep exercising the way i am and try to eat less junk and eat more salad :)
- By Granitecitygirl [eu] Date 29.12.08 13:38 UTC
Only way I've found out how to stop biting my nails is to paint them, many different colours and often.  I can't bear to bite them as they are so pretty :-)

And I think this is the first year I didn't get a selection box :-(  Must be a sign of being a grown up!

I'm going to cook more and do more exercise!
- By Paula [gb] Date 29.12.08 13:48 UTC
I'm going to look after myself a bit better, try to get fit and healthy.

I'm also going to plan our meals for the whole week and only buy what we need so that we don't have as much waste food.

Oh, nearly forgot, I'm going to grow my own veg this year, I'm really looking forward to it!
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 29.12.08 13:59 UTC
i did try that horrid tasting stuff on my nails and that worked for a time, but it was getting on my food and i was tasting it all the time which wasnt nice, and also i eventually got used to it lol!

i guess i could try painting them but i think they look horrid painted and short, but ill try it and see if it stops me biting them! thanks :)

Well, apart from going back to the diet I used to follow but dropped about 18 months ago, (and I wonder why all my clothes have shrunk), I will be sorting out my finances and instead of just spending what I like when I like, (within reason), I am going to account for every penny by keeping a spending diary for a month and see where I waste my cash.

i know the feeling!!! :-D

im starting all new with this next diet! i have messed up so much in the last year with all different types of diets and put more weight on than when i started!!! so now im going on the slow and steady approach! ive joined up to slimming world and start on tue 6th! i have quite alot to loose but im not letting that beat me! i just want to be happy with myself,i dont want to be skinny minne and i dont really care what other people class as being overweight i just want to be happy and healthy! :-)

hope everyone has a great 2009!!! :-D

Slimming World for me too!! I joined about two years ago and my doc commented that it was the only diet that she considered to be a healthy diet. I managed to lose a stone and a half, but unfortunately once I stopped going the weight has crept back on. I have decided to rejoin and go at least once a month, for me the simple threat of being weighed there will be enough. I have quite a complex medical condition and take a cocktail of medication, two of which have weight gain as side effects, so I really do have to be careful with my diet, but I have to say that I did feel better when I was sticking to the slimming world rules. Maybe I should post on here what my weight is each week, surely that would be enough incentive to keep me on the straight and narrow!!

I am also going to stop spending money without thinking about it. I do think that I spend money to make me feel better because I feel fed up, then I feel guilty afterwards. Every week we go shopping then have to throw food away from cupboards/fridge and freezer to make room for what we have bought. I am going to start paying with cash, as I think it makes you watch what you buy. With switch I just punch in my pin number and don't think about how much I have spent.

So roll on 2009, which will hopefully see a healthier happier me, with a healthier bank balance!!

Im just going to try and be happy.  I dont want to care about calories....if I want a brownie Im gonna eat one!  Do more things for myself, instead of running myself ragged for others all the time.  Spend less time worrying about things that could happen, and just focus on what is happening.

Hopefully...........

i used Champix 13 months ago...
it does make you feel a bit nauseous but stick with it..
i am smoke free since i took it..i dont feel any different however other than i have money..and have put it to good use by joining the new Nuffield gym in town..
its expensive but its a lot better than smoking it away...
i love the smell of smoke still but hate the smell of people who smoke!!!!urghh stale and revolting
my daughter has been smoke free for 2 months and is already feeling the benefits..
stick with it.....

I have started a weight loss thread for 2009!
- By Stormy84 [gb] Date 01.01.09 13:12 UTC
Just a quick thought for those of you doing the weight loss thing. Please keep in mind that losing weight is not always the best way to guage your progress. Some people will find that exercise and healthy eating won't reduce their weight signficantly, but they will gain greater muscle tone. I would get seriously despondant if I just measured my progress by weight alone. Maybe doing measurements of thighs, tummy, arms etc would also show you the progress you are making. I find the best way to stick to a process is if you can see results- no one wants to put themselves through a diet and see no change. Good luck guys :-)
- By kiger [gb] Date 02.01.09 12:24 UTC
yes i agree with you on that stormy,i will be measuring myself everyweek/few weeks too :-)
