Interesting.  The very first thing that I was taught at grooming school is how to educate owners what is best for both them and their dog and why.

i dont know who wrote this i just want to say yes we do try an make owners realise what is best for there dogs but when they wont listen
and they dont want to pay then what can u do other than get the clippers out and make the dog comftable

i offer all sorts of services at my salon but if the owner just wants a short pet trim who am i to tell them other wise
if they wont maintain the coat at home and then the dog ends up coming in the next time in a mess if it wasnt short

i dont take the clippers to everydog i have loads of handstripped dogs on my books
but at the end of the day i will do what the owners want so they will be happy.

Unfortunately I think because there are so many badly clipped dogs out there that many owners actually think that the style that Yorkies etc. have are actually correct.

It is for you and many others to stop the just clip it all off practice and show how actually with just a bit of a brush a day their coats can be kept looking good.  We brush our hair every day so why not do our dogs (not that I can say anything because mine aren't allowed to be brushed or combed :) )

There has already been a very recent thread on this subject so I don't really see there is more to add to what was already said on that thread
