Was just wondering how many people will be attending the show.

Would be good to put names to faces. Hoping for dry weather as i'm not sure driving 1 1/2 in the pouring rain on the motorway is going to do it for me for an open show//

I am going to this one as well with my two Leos and a friends GSD. I to have an 1 1/2 drives, but will be nice to get out and spend some time with my girls over xmas

I have entered but have to go to my other halfs parents (was hoping to duck out in the morning as its reasonably local for me but no such luck :( ) on the plus side I do have an agility show on the sunday :)

I'll be there with the Boxers - hopefully we will have an outside ring too.
But I think our breed judge is doing other breeds which may be indoors...
Hope we are outside (fingers crossed)

We were first in the ring, yup it was cold.

Not a good result 3 of 3 x 2 with the two juniors :(
1 absent due to season.
But wasn't expecting much as we've not done any good under
the breed judge previously...so wasn't surprised with todays result.

Only entered to keep the breed classes.

We only had 6 entered and only 4 turned up including me, very poor show to be honest. If numbers continue like this then i doubt we'll keep the breed classes going for much longer for many of these open shows. There are very few shows with Bernese only classes as it is.. The Mals only had 3 dogs today(was quite impressed with one dog i saw).
My friends didn't do well in her Spin class, shame.. She is finding it very difficult to keep her head up. She did so well in the summer at the champ shows and now she is not even getting placed at times in local open shows. She just doesn't know where she is going wrong..

I was pleased with 2nd out of 2 as it was SO cold there. Marco did a fab job of pratting around and pulling back as I was trying to stand him! There was a GS in season and he is a slave to his hormones - bless him! I too was home for lunch!!

Well Done everyone :)  It was cold, with a nippy wind :(  We went BOB but it was a forgone conclusion when we saw the cataloge...Just which one we wern't sure as only 2 red and whites enterd, both ours :(

We had 14 entered and we had 2 absent (one of those mine due to her season).
Which is about the average entry for Boxers at open shows these days.
When I started out I can remember open shows used to get entries of 30 plus for Boxers
and that was 'normal'.

I can see us losing more open shows if we don't support them.

Back to Slough on the 10th at Bucks CS - no breed classes though :(

Boy was is cold today, I was so frozen in the ring my hands almost stopped working! Was worth it though the Beagles had a super day my lad got BOB then HG1, no further in BIS but so proud of him he showed his socks off! My friend won puppy class and BP then HPG2, her Ch veteran bitch also won the Veteran stakes and won £15 she was well chuffed! :) Saw lots of local people I know which was nice. We had any entry of 16 which is ok, a few years ago you would normally get 25 -30 aswell.

I was watching the Beagles for a bit, you were in the ring next to us. Saw a guy come out of the ring with a red card. You know who that was? Missed the challenge due to chatting. Did mention to a friend that they have such lovely faces. Well done on your win and getting the group!!!

Thanks Suejaw, the only two men handling beagles today didn't win the classes. What were they wearing?

Hmm, maybe he was holding the card for someone else then, only saw a male outside the ring with a red card. He was about 5ft 8 and i would say in his 40-50's. Medium build. Can't say what he was wearing but don't think it was anything really dark in colour.

Ooh forgot to say also my friend got BOB in the Vizla class!!! Way to go Zala!! The nutty dog.

Oh, I'm not sure who that could have been.

Just a thought as i recall a little about the dog. Did you have a veteran class? He looked like he was loosing colour around his muzzle a little bit..
