Calling all Malamute owners out there....what heights/weights are your malamutes and at what ages?

I'm trying to guage final height/weight of my pup...he is 8 months and stands 24" at the withers and weighs around 42kg I do expect him to gain another 3-4" in height and perhaps another 8-10kg in weight

Thanks,

Kelly

We have 2 boys and 2 girl Mals.Shadow is 17 months old and is a big lad at around 60kg and around 28 inches high.Demon is 3 years, around 47kg and 27 inches.Whilst the girls are around 25 inches and 40kg in weight. They are all BARF fed but have a tendency to put weight on,so I have to cut back on their diet depending on their exercise regime. They didn't fully mature until around 2 years of age.Jude.

I can only tell you the three that are weighed regularly for competition :-)

Male, 6 years, 27 1/2" and 46 1/2kg
Male, 2 years, 27" and 40 1/2kg
Female, 2 years, 25" and 32kg

If he's to standard, he should grow to between 25" and 28", weight is entirely variable according to build etc. At a recent competition we had males ranging from 31kg to 52kg so it's important not to get hung up on weight :-)

Yeah not too bothered by his weight as long as he isn't over weight. I run my two Huskies and he is being trained at the moment but obvioulsy due to his age don't have him running full pelt with them.

I would like him to be as tall as possible but obviously there is little I can do to affect that other than feed/exercise him properly lol.

He is my first Malamute and gawd I can't believe how much they differ from Huskies personality wise, he cracks me up He is very headstrong and likes to argue back lol. I also don't think he realises how big he is when he tries to sit on your lap or hides under the table and ends up carrying it on his back when he tries to get out from under it!

Ah yes, they do consider themselves to be lap dogs, I've been pinned to the sofa many times :-D

Where in the UK are you? Might see you at a rally sometime :-)

If he is only 8 months old, wait until he is fully grown and decides to sit on your knee :) :) Like malakai, I am regularly pinned on the sofa by my two Mallies lol

Ah my boy is Malakai too although really only use Kai now lol

I cant wait till he is fully grown haha gotta love the Malamautes what a character he is. Just such a wimp...is actually scared of everything...still trying to build up his confidence levels.
