Yes....
Anyone know where you can get
Turkey legs (Tesco normally do them in singles - but at Christmas time they take them off the shelves...aarrrggh
and guess what Dad wants for his Crimbo lunch - We can't help him out either as we've just got a Turkey crown)
Also the Jacob's cheesy footballs (you know the ones with the 'fake' cheesy cream innerds).
Didn't spot them in Tesco's ...
These are on my Dad's Christmas wish list and can I find them....I only have this afternoon and the eve's on the run up to
Christmas as I'm working mon/tues/weds...so that rules out the butchers for Turkey legs.....hmmmphhh and why is it I only get asked
for them after the butchers had closed on Saturday....:(
Help!!
Most good butchers will be able to sell you a turkey leg and many are open late over the next few days, including today, to accommodate turkey collections. The other option is one of the farm type shops. Sorry no clues about your Dads other wish - I've never heard of them. Perhaps if you call Jacobs on Monday they'll send a box for Christmas!! some hope...
Normally the footballs are around the twiglets and other nik naks...
But I've not seen them this year...
We've got a good butcher in the next village - I'll give them a call to see what they say re the legs...
It's a favourite past time of my Dad's setting me 'mission seemingly impossible'....

I'm sure I saw cheesy footballs at Somerfield.

Morrisons have turkey legs on sale, saw them yesterday.
Cant help with the cheesy footballs sorry.

I usually get both of those at Asdas but only at christmas time and havent been this year yet.

I also saw double packs of turkey legs in Morrisons.

Hi Boxacrazy
Just to let you know that I was in Sainsburys last night and they had the Jacobs cheesy footballs you were after, they are on offer, 3 for 2 I think !!
:-)
Thanks for everyone's hints on where to go...............
I got the cheesy football's in Waitrose...
and then I got the legs at a local butcher's - but they were a bit pricey and frozen :o
So one will hopefully be defrosted in time for Christmas..
Congratulations, so it's Mission not quite so Impossible Dad!
Just imagine what he might order for next Christmas, with just days to go....
Happy Christmas Boxacrazy Dad - enjoy :)
(Shhh, better not tell him about Sam's CZ mayo)
Thanks,
On the downside he's now quite poorly and on antibiotics and has a flair up of angina (he had a heart attack a few years ago) :(
So we ended up on a mission of mercy to do some shopping for him and my 91 yr old Nan tonight.
As he was going to do some shopping for Christmas dinner food etc tomorrow.
I feel a little better knowing that at least they have a Christmas dinner (two aunts are also having dinner with them)
and that my Dad won't need to go out for a few days.
Although he did say he's not feeling very hungary for his turkey leg now :(
Going back over tomorrow after work to check up on both.

slight chanhge of topic. My mum allways used tobuy Jacob Puff cracknells at christmas, seems they have maybeen discontinued and looking for them has now turned into a family joke each Christmas oh yes and chasing a fresh beetroot on Christmas eve (always Christmas eve)is the other thing !
Daft what little rituals we get into or is it just my family ?
Agree with your Dad cheese footballs are great havent had them for years, lovely and synthetic LOL
