Pitt Bulls and their crosses are linked to organised crime FACT

All of them?

Do you include Staffordshire bull terriers and their crosses in your observations?

I agree though there are some undersirable people who use various breeds / crosses as status symbols.  Sadly as you have also pointed out, it's often the innocent dogs which suffer most.

I do think in britain most pitt bulls and thier crosses are linked to organised crime in one way or another. This does not include staffies as they can be bred legally and responsibly. The people who are profiting by selling pitt bull puppies are criminals, they are possibly involved in the drugs trade, possibly dog fighting but they definatly break the law when they breed and sell these puppies which are classed as dangerous in this country. I dont understand anyone who would go out and buy a dog that has come from this background. It isnt helping these dogs it is only encouraging the kind of people who do breed them to do it more. Perhaps there is a "responsible" breeder in this country breeding these dogs and they do not all come from a crimminal back ground, they perhaps do all the health tests and temperament tests to make sure they have good tempered healthy puppies but how can they possibly home these puppies responsibly? The people they are selling the puppies to are criminals for even buying the puppy. I do feel sorry for the dogs that end up in kennels for years and it is not right that this happens to them but it is the people who buy and breed pitt bulls in britain that should be blamed for this.

Aaah, I think I see what you mean now.. well I'm sorry if you misunderstood my post.  I was agreeing with the poster before me who had said something about troll posters and so on.

street gang crime maybe, not organised crime.
that is mafias, which are on the level of multinational businesses.
dogs arent usually their sort of tool

Organised crime being people trafficking, drug farm cultivation, class A drug dealing - a major problem in the North East.  Aberdeen has more than it's fair share of organised crime ;-)  Gangs are not prevalent in Aberdeen.  Grampian Police have also arrested a fair few Liverpudlian drug dealers - Liverpool, a short ferry ride from Ireland where pit bulls were/are still legal, is where there was a major dog fighting ring recently, and where the little girl was sadly killed by a pit bull.  So it is not too far fetched for me to say that the two dogs I saw, on separate occasions, were pit bulls or crosses at least. No disrespect to Liverpudlians, just relaying what I know.

Tessies Tracy - there is a world of difference between staffies and pits.  I would not dare compare the two as that is a great disservice to one of our great British Breeds.  Truly.  I do apologise that you thought I would.  All breeds need their supporters, especially at this time with the bad dog press and proposed bill etc.

Absolutely, and I didn't think you were comparing the two.  Sorry that we seemed to have been at cross purposes! :-D
