Topic Dog Boards / Health / lump after injection??
- By DawnR Date 21.12.08 18:50 UTC
Hi, my dog has had an injection (antibiotics), this was not done with me present.

She has got a really visible lump just below her shoulders so, I'm guessing this is the injection site.  It is quite big but not bothering her.  How long should I wait for this to go down and should I mention it to the vet?

Thanks, Dawn

Gently rub it to help it disperse. It should go down in a few days without any problem.

Sasha has two quite large lumps in areas she had injections.
Hers were not gone after two weeks and as we were at the vets anyway we got them checked  and were told not to worry and to mention them to the vet seeing her in January (if they are still there). This would have been nearly 1.5 months after the injections so it seems it can take a while for them to disappear.
The lumps are nearly gone now, after a month.

If it is not worrying the dog, don't let it worry you, it is quite common following an injection.

Thanks guys, I know probably a silly problem but I do love a good worry!
